Not sure how long ago the "friend everybody" frenzy was, but since I'm planning to thin things out to only those I actually know and interact with, I figured I'd update this again as I won't be introducing myself to new people. And I will be deleting or at least not following anybody I don't know or interact with. Updating again in 2022 to indicate I no longer have a website, and that I'm concentrating more on DW.
I still read and write fan fiction related to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel the Souled Vampire, and have dipped into Torchwood and Lucifer crossovers. Thinking about Grimm, although that's fading away already. Fair warning - I've been in fandom as a reader since the very early 2000s, and have been writing since 2002 and posting (somewhere) since 2003. And I had, for many years, a job that required me to stay in one place for hours at a stretch, but did not necessarily require me to do much during that time except be available if someone needed my assistance. As a result, the number of things I've written in the past 15 years is a bit daunting. I'm daunted, and I wrote them! Don't be frightened. I think they are fairly easily sorted out by season/characters/etc. On here, you just have to depend on titles and tags I'm afraid. Although I've tried to use multiple tags for fics to assist in finding what you like.
This is still mostly a fic journal, but since I'm retired from my job, I'm more likely to post personal stuff than I used to be. And I do the occasional meme. On the other hand, I'm still a somewhat private person, so I can't say how much I'll be using the journal as a journal, and when I do, those posts are likely to be restricted to friends only. I'm very active on FB and most of my more personal, day-to-day activities and interactions are covered on there, either on my own page or in one of a frighteningly large number of groups I belong to based on dogs or horses. There are a smallish number of LJ friends also on FB with me - mostly people who I've met in person and/or I can trust not to "out" me as Slaymesoftly. Which is trickier now that EF has a FB presence and group. I may be softening a bit in terms of discussing fandom on FB, but I really don't want anyone in RL knowing my fanfic penname, so still very secretive about that.
As far as LJ is concerned, I am the primary mod for an LJ community called Riters R Us, which grew out of my habit of adding to my LJ posts a "daily doozy" which was usually a set of homophones or often confused words. Now, we have a community made up of people who love language and words and who have a lot of knowledge to share and the not-so-daily doozies can include punctuation and grammar information as well as links to other writer resource sites. It isn't very active anymore and I've kind of lost my interest in it, so I rarely update. But I'm leaving it there as a resource for anyone who wants to use it.
Just in case, I think it might be wise to put a disclaimer to the effect that I post fiction on this site; much of it is adult fiction - and clearly labeled so. It may occasionally have disturbing themes, as fiction often has villains and villains tend not to be nice people and they often indulge in not-so-nice activities. They pretty much get what's coming to them in the end, so I'm hoping that will make up for any depiction of scary/unpleasant events. There are rarely children in my stories and I do not expect children (or anyone underage) to be reading any stories that are clearly marked for adults only.
