Reginald L. Burgess
Reginald L. “Reggie” Burgess, who grew up in North Charleston's Union Heights and Liberty Hill, parlayed his athletic talents into a full scholarship at Morgan State University, before returning to South Carolina to embark on a distinguished law enforcement career, eventually becoming the Chief of Police and then Mayor of North Charleston. Guided by his mother's advice to "to thine own self be true," Reggie’s journey reflects a commitment to public service, continuous learning, and a balanced personal life, highlighted by his family and deep community involvement.
