Donald Edward Machholz, Jr. (October 7, 1952 - August 9, 2022)
The astronomical community, in particular the Amateur and the Comet Scene
as well as the Messier and Messier Marathon community, mourns the loss of
Don Machholz (1952-1922).
Don was one of the inventors of the Messier Marathon in the 1970s, and was
involved in the discovery of 12 comets between 1978 and 2018.
