
Chinggis Sat [Thales Alenia Space]
Chinggis Sat is a planned Mongolian Ku-band High Througput Satellite (HTS) to provide to provide connectivity in Mongolia.
An agreement between Mongolia Ministry of Digital Development and Communications and Thales Alenia Space to construct a Mongolian national satellite telecommunications system has been reached in October 2023. The formal contract is pending.
To be built on Thales Alenia Space's Spacebus-4000B2 platform, Chinggis Sat will provide more than 32 Gbps capacity over Mongolia from its orbital position at 113 East. The satellite will weigh about 4 metric tons at launch and will be delivered early 2024 for a 15-year expected lifetime.
