Doctor Who
But at least I have my wish in that I do like him somewhat at the end of the first episode and Amy seems like she'll be a good companion, she's certainly feisty enough, a perfect match to Eleven's insanity.
Now in no particular order. . .
</p>
+ Haha the Doctor having to use a grappling hook to get out of the TARDIS because he's fallen so far into her depths was funny. Loved the line about the pool being in the library or however that went!
+ I loved the “You're Scottish! Fry something!” and the “Beans are EVIL!” lines (although for the record I love 'em, beans that is). And what the Doctor finally settled on eating was GROSS - I mean fish with custard?!! Not only fish with custard but fish dipped in custard! Ewwww!
+ “Two parts of space and time that should never have touched...” Oh if this was RTD's era still I know what I'd be thinking that means but since we're under a new regime haven't a clue where SM is going with this yet.
+
+ “Why does no one ever listen to me? Do I just have a face that nobody listens to?!!” Pause. “Again.” Haha I don't care what the Doctor looks like he's plagued with never being listened to until something bad happens but what's really funny to me was the again he added.
+ “Why did you say six months?” “Why did you say five minutes?” I have to say I loved this moment, the moment the Doctor realizes not only did he overshoot his return by over a decade but also the fact he's know facing a grown up Amelia.
+ “And what sort of job is a kissogram?” “I go to parties and I kiss people. With outfits. It's a laugh!” “But you were a little girl five minutes ago.” “You're worse than my aunt.” “I'm the Doctor. I'm worse than everybody's aunt. And that is not how I'm introducing myself.”
+ Am I the only one who thought the Doctor was being rude to Rory? I can't remember who in the community said but yes I agree with whoever the way he talked/acted towards Rory made me think of how Nine talked/acted with Mickey, especially in the beginning. If we see anymore of Rory I hope the Doctor won't continue to be rude to him!
+ Errr Prisoner Zero is creepy, especially when he was the man and dog and I really didn't like the thing with the mouth!
+ “Well that's rubbish! Who's that supposed to be?” “It's you.” “Me? Is that what I look like?” “You don't know?” “Busy day.” It's interesting that when we first met Nine it's clear the first time he saw his own reflection was in a mirror in Jackie/Rose's flat and I just assumed he never was really interested in seeing what he looked like now then, just didn't care because you know he knew he had regenerated. Ten definitely made it a point to time the time to look in a mirror to see what he looked like. This Doctor probably cared but as he said busy day, he'd been running from the get go and hardly had time for anything like looking in a mirror. Prisoner Zero's imitation of him was an interesting way for the Doctor to see what his new face and body looked like!
+ Umm okay the Doctor scavenging out his outfit from other people's clothes was different but in the end I suppose he's somewhat right in that he's saved the planet a million times and the (least) we owe him is a shirt.
+ Speaking of Eleven assembling his outfit from other peoples' clothes, seeing him in what was left of Ten's attire for most of the episode wasn't as painful as I thought it would be and I think it's because the jacket had been shed. Seriously him not in the jacket is what made it bearable for me to watch him romp around in what was left of Ten and I am so relieved it didn't make my heart ache all over again for the loss of Ten.
+ “Is this world protected? You're not the first lot to come here. There have been so many! And what you've got to ask is: what happened to them? Hello, I'm the Doctor. Basically. . . run.” I don't know about you but when he said that I got chills and I just met this Doctor but even with just meeting him I knew the Atraxi didn't want to mess with him and after doing a quick scan of the enemies he's defeated I guess they knew they didn't want to mess with him either!
+ “I am DEFINITELY a MAD MAN with a box!” Oh my dear Doctor, you've always been a mad man with a box and I hope you always will be!
+ Fourteen years?!! Wow the Doctor really outdid himself with missing the mark, didn't he? Still I have to said I am glad when Amy finally went with him she was 21 instead of 7 or even 19! Although lol her at the end trusting the Doctor to bring her back the same day/or few hours after she left with him is laughable because seriously I wanted to say “Um, Amy dear, does FOURTEEN YEARS mean anything to you?!!”
+ I know others are saying they saw too much of Ten in Eleven's first episode and while I admit the manic insanity was like Ten I also didn't see that much IN Eleven. The Doctor has always been something on the manic insane side, some Doctors more than others but that doesn't mean they're copying one another.
+ Good grief what IS IT about Steven Moffat's taking something that's so common place, that it's something you don't look at twice usually and turning it into that'll make you look twice whenever you see it again? I have a crack in my bedroom wall and I am so GLAD it's horizontal instead of vertical because otherwise me thinks I wouldn't have gotten much sleep after watching this even if I wasn't hearing “Prisoner Zero has escaped.” from the other side of it!
+ Let me just end by saying I still miss Ten, will always miss him just as I still miss Four but having said that I welcome Eleven, look forward to getting to know him and from what I've seen of him in this first episode I think I'm gonna like him a lot and maybe somewhere down the road I will come to love him for the Doctor he turns out to be - we'll see I suppose!
