Frequently asked questions

Is it safe for sensitive skin? Made with plant oils and butters (shea, jojoba, sweet almond, coconut, macadamia) with no added fragrance, plus bisabolol from chamomile to help calm skin. As with any skincare product, patch-test on a small area first.

Does it help with itching? Dry, healing skin is what itches. Inky Duck keeps the tattoo hydrated so skin stays supple through the flaking stage, and bisabolol and vitamin E help soothe. Apply a thin layer whenever the area feels tight or dry.

Is it vegan? Yes. We use candelilla wax, a plant wax, instead of beeswax. No animal-derived ingredients.

How often should I apply it? On a healing tattoo, 2-3 times a day in a thin layer after gently washing and patting dry. On healed tattoos, once a day or whenever you want to bring the color back up.

Does it contain fragrance? No added fragrance. The light natural scent comes from the shea and nut oils only.

Can I use it on old tattoos? Yes. Hydrated skin shows ink more clearly, so a small amount rubbed into a faded tattoo brightens it right away and keeps it looking sharp with regular use.
