Full review:

First off, quality lights that work great and have a ton of optional patterns/colors.

Precautions: if you cut the light strip at an angle then be aware that too sharp of an angle will not allow the strip to emit light in that section. If you 90 degree/straight cut the strip then the light will emit all the way to the end.

***MAKE SURE YOU TEST ALL main and sub boxes with lights before installing. YOU HAVE TO SYNC EACH SUB BOX WITH THE MAIN BOX BEFORE FINAL INSTALLATION. I recommend laying out your entire setup on the floor/ground and make sure all is working as if the entire unit is installed. This also is important so you can see the orientation of the lights patterns. I have mine installed where the lights pan out from the center of the vehicle to the doors or from the doors to the center. You have a bunch of settings to make the lights go in or out. Again, you just want to make sure you install the strips in uniform so you don’t have them going left to right on one side and right to left on the other.

For a full custom fit I removed the led door lights and storage lights from their housings. Basically leaving the led board exposed. I then removed the factory door handle and storage leds on my 2021 Yukon and placed the new LEDs over the existing factory holes and secured them in place with hot glue. This way I wasn’t drilling holes in the door panels.

Make sure you are using hot glue, double sided tape, zip ties and whatever else is needed to keep wires from just laying in the doors or dash. This way you won’t hear the wires smacking around or creating a rattling noise under the dash.

As you can tell in the comparison photos of my rear door the dimmest setting is still bright. The brightest setting will literally blind you. Unless you’re parked and throwing a party inside your vehicle I’m not sure when you would have these lights brighter than the dimmest setting.

My only complaints are that I wish the lights were able to be more dim and I wish you could change the start up pattern.

If you plan on doing the install yourself and want a full custom fit with professional look it is completely possible, but prepaid yourself for a full day project.

I 100% recommend this product.

I purchased the 18 in 1 Dreamcolor kit. It arrived in just about 3 days. The kit included 4 controllers, 5 light strips, the door lights and footwell lights.

I removed the dash panels and the door panels and successfully placed the wires in the appropriate locations. The wires are a little short going to the main controllers but I made it work for the install.

The benefit to the sub controllers is that they are wireless so you can tap into the door power and they are automatically in sync with the main controller. So you don’t have the hassle of running wires from your doors into the main control unit.

The app is pretty basic but it connects very well. It has over 100 color combinations.

For the install. YOU WILL HAVE TO DRILL into your doors for the small door pocket lights. I wasn’t originally comfortable with it but did it anyway and the ambient light blended very well with the interior. They are also very bright.

I recommend using a fuse tap for your main controller and just using the fuse for your cigarette lighter as this turns on and off with the vehicle.

This is the best set of ambient light strips for the money. They have even lighting across the entire spectrum and are super bright. Highly recommend and TAKE YOUR TIME with the install.

This product was a huge disappointment. I bought the Dreamcolor 18-in-1 ambient lighting kit mainly to make sure I had plenty of strips, but it turned out to be a waste of money. Three out of the five strips didn’t work at all, there were no clear instructions for setup, and the worst part was that the main controller wasn’t even included in the box. Now I have to start over and buy another kit. Definitely would not recommend Dreamcolor!

I was initially happy with the kit after installing it. Everything went smoothly, although it was strenuous. Patience is the only way you'll be able to do this yourself. Trust me. Well, like I said, all was good, but one day it wasn't. The box turns on, and everything that is plugged into the box is working, but my four doors are not. I'm thinking it's the Bluetooth connection. I can't find any help online, and I can't find a way to contact their customer service, making them just like all the other crappy sellers. You know the kind—once they get your money, they are nowhere to be found afterward. It was cool while it lasted. Save your money unless you are okay with only a month's worth of enjoyment. 🙂‍↔️

**Update as of 5/20**

I was able to contact their customer service, and it turns out it was a communication error between Amazon customer service and myself. I wasn't using the correct method to contact them, which is why I thought I was being ignored. So disregard the negative remarks about their after-sales service. Once we were in communication, they stayed in communication, almost to a **detriment** (more on that in a bit).

Once connected, I was offered a replacement. It wasn't the same as the one I bought, but rather the 6and1, which was fair. My set had a module failure, which is why some of the lights failed. Unsure which specific module failed, they sent the 6and1 to replace them all or serve as backups for possible future issues.

So they corrected the issues with a 6-to-1 replacement that swapped out the defective part. I also received a few spare modules and some extra strips to add to my setup. Considering what I've been through, would I recommend this kit? Although they made things right, it's still an inconvenience and a headache to have to contact them, wait for the replacement, remove the defective part after troubleshooting it, and install the replacement. And I won't deny that I'm now skeptical that this will be the last time I have to deal with this issue, which is perhaps the reason for the spare modules. I can't honestly say yes or no. It really depends on the person and what their time means to them. We know they'll make it right by sending out replacements, but should we have to be regularly swapping out parts to keep this thing functional? No. But what if my situation was rare and the parts normally last and never have to be swapped out? But what if the replacement fails again in a month or so?

I wanted to test that before updating this review just to be as fair and thorough as I could, but here is where the "almost to their detriment" comes into play. I'm not sure how many emails and app messages I received from them asking me to update my initial review. Before I even got the replacement in my hand, I had already been asked three times. Like I mentioned, I wanted to test the durability of the new item to make sure all was really good, but clearly, that wasn't going to be possible, in peace at least. But at the absolute least, I wanted to install it to make sure it works. I've been busy with life, so I haven't gotten around to it. But after another two or three more messages from them, fed up, I went to the shop, opened the box, and temporarily hooked it up to the battery to test it. It lights up. The product works. How well? I couldn't tell you. But here is the updated review I was hounded and harassed for.

Amazon, Google Maps, Reddit, business websites, BBB...it doesn't matter. One thing I'm always going to do is be as honest and thorough as I can be when I leave a review of a product, a place, or a service. So take all this with a grain of salt to decide if it's worth it to you. I hope I helped some.

Totally worth buying, only thing is that I recommend that you know from where your getting your 12v. The length they give you is good just maybe buy a few feet more of extra cable (buy it from here Amazon, not same company but you can get a roll) Wiring is an important part of connecting the leds and the adhesion they give you works only if you have small parts not heavy ones. What I really love is the way you can customize the lights with the app!!!!

The Dreamcolor Acrylic Interior Car LED Strip Light Kit is impressive in features, with 16 million colors, sound-active modes, and app control. The lighting effects are bright and vibrant, creating a great ambiance inside the car.

Easy install; I love that there’s no wire in between the door and cabin. Good quality for the price and customization!

The light strips that come with the product are great. The fiber optic lens allows for no hot spots and the different lighting styles are great to create your own vibe while driving. That’s about all that’s good to say. The main control boxes and sub control boxes are garbage. Cheap Chinese crap that has a very short life span. I’ve replaced the boxes once and my second set just gave out in less than a month. Extremely disappointing from a product that has a 4.2 rating because it’s misleading af. The app is a very generic Chinese app that offers very little. In fact, the interface is the exact same as the app for the lights on the back of my tv. It’s very slow to connect and often have to click a color or button multiple times for it to communicate with the control boxes to change the color or function of the lights. The only reason this product gets 2 stars is because I believe the light strips they provide are made well. But the functionality of the control boxes and the app keep it from being a better product
