Iris Apfel once said, "I'm not going to be a rebel and offend anybody, but I'm not going to live in somebody else's image," which naturally defines Larry Williams, especially when he puts pen to paper.

Raised in the Southside section of Queens, New York, that paper became a book of rhymes as Larry adopted the name Blackout the Rebel, using the world around him to become a critically acclaimed MC. But the ink didn’t dry there. Since 2013, Blackout the Rebel has become one of the pioneers of New York's independent media scene—first as the lead host of his highly rated radio show, Darkside Radio, and now as a co-host on the newly developed wrestling and sports entertainment podcast, Bell 2 Bell.

When Larry isn't sharing hot takes as a 12-year podcast veteran, he is channeling his creativity into another form of literature. In February 2025, he became a published author with the release of his love story, What The Heart Wants. For a multi-talented artist, producer, podcast host, and author, Larry is dedicated to taking his time and crafting content that leaves a lasting legacy.

    Please take your time with this book because the way the author wrote in detail about every character needs , wants . And dislikes you are going to relate to one if not everyone buy the end I know I did with cheri … it gives a healthy outlook on black love and to be honest who doesn’t need more of that in the spotlight

    For a person who just started reading again, this was the perfect book to read. The interactions between Joseph and Cherise feels real; between their complexities, needs, wants, desires, etc. made for some great reading and re-reading (I've read it twice already)
