I recently started using this book as a tool to teach beginner students, and it’s been excellent. I’ve purchased every book in the series, including the intermediate and advanced levels. I really appreciate how the series builds from simple English to more complex language step by step, allowing students to progress naturally. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone looking to learn English while developing a strong grammatical foundation in a clear and structured way.

英語圏の子どもたちはこのような形で語学の勉強を進め大人になっていく。

であれば我々もそのような頭の使い方ができる勉強方法で英語を学べば効率が良いのでは、といった考えで購入しました。

まだ勉強途中なので成果は明確に出ているわけではありませんが、「英語を英語として認識して理解する」特訓をしています。

中学英語から不安な方は、日本語で書かれた英文法書で軽く学び直してから使用するのが良いと思います。

とても良い。内容を発音してくれるCDが付けばもっと良いのだが。

Cambridge both cheats the student and teacher with this book. It's just a 99%+ word for word copy of their 2015 "Essential Grammar in Use" with minimal changes in names such as - Elisa to Sarah, and from light-skinned characters to dark- skinned characters. A purely pathetic and deceptive way to mask the same product in seemingly new packaging. I spent several hours researching these ISBN numbers on Amazon USA and Amazon Japan to compare them against my existing "Essential" book without any conclusive evidence they were the same. They are exactly the same but 2 years apart publishing date, different titles, and slightly larger pictures yet deceptively marketed as different books.

Really disappointed as a business English teacher in Japan to entrust Cambridge University Press publishing present the same book only with an accent of changes that wouldn't be normally noticed by the average person. Cambridge has intentionally tricked both students and EFL teachers with such sly tactics.

Now I see what they meant by the title "BASIC Grammar In Use" vs. my previous British-based "ESSENTIAL Grammar In Use." The "Basic" label is a way to say that this book is not the same as British English ("Essential" book) and the latter is of higher standard, and therefore you are not getting the same product (although its just a revamp of the former book being over 99% the same thing)..... Pathetic!

Never again CAMBRIDGE! I'm done.

まだ10ユニットしかしていないけど既に答えにミスあり。（日本語版は答えが正しい）

中年以降には目が疲れるサイズなのでコピーして115%拡大、それに直接書き込み。そのほうが答え合わせをしやすいという利点もあり。（日本語版は答えが外れるようになっていて答え合わせがしやすい。）

一番驚いたのはeBook（音声）は3年という期限付き。あってもなくても良いような音声なんて言ってしまうと元も子もないが。

文法は簡単でも小中学生は頭をひねるような問題がある。受験英語ではない。だから英語を使いたい大人には向いている。

If you are an intermediate or advanced student and you feel you need reliable English grammar information and practice, you should buy this book.

If you are an ESL instructor and you are looking for materials that will help you answer the questions your students keep asking you, you owe it to yourself and your students to look at this book.

There is no better grammar practice book for upper-intermediate to advanced students of American English available than Grammar in Use.

As a longtime ESL professional with many years of experience both in the USA and abroad, I have been working with various Cambridge University Press "In Use" titles since the beginning of my career. At present, I work in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as an adult ESL instructor for Allegheny County's community-based adult program and I also do corporate ESL training on a contracted basis.

Grammar In Use is my standard grammar reference text for all upper-intermediate to advanced ESL groups working to learn English for general purposes. I ask practically all my private students at these levels to buy this book, or I buy it for them. The majority find that it is the best investment in their English language learning they have ever made.

The third edition of GIU incorporate the changes made in the British third edition of this book. These include a number of new units greatly expanding coverage of phrasal verbs and also minor but important changes to the explanations and exercises throughout the book. These small changes bring grammar explanations up to date with shifting usage patterns today, and also tweak a few descriptions to make explaining grammar issues easier for instructors.

The order of things in the English language teaching world today is that the majority of US-trained ESL instructors tend to use the Azar series for regular grammar supplementation theory and exercises, while British-trained instructors prefer the "In Use" titles. I've used both over the years. For a previous edition of this book, another reviewer on this site, in an excellent technical review, has already outlined all my primary professional objections to the Azar series. The reviewer has also touched on the main reasons why far too many US-based ESL instructors continue to rely on the Azar titles as much as they do.

It may seem strange that two professionals would explicitly mention the Azar titles in a negative context in reviews for another book, but I can only say in response that I am very thankful it has been years since the last time I was asked to adopt the Azar books as set texts in an ESL class.

I only wish that I had had the chance to read something like this or had been able to use it to discuss grammar supplementation policies with some of the ESL managers I worked with in the earlier years of my own career, and that's why I've written and posted it here.

En general es un muy buen libro, genial que traiga respuestas y el acceso a la versión digital porque puedes escuchar la pronunciación.
