Love it! Size, quality, uses, color, health!
Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2026I bought this for my daily cacao, so it was important to me to have a metal-free and plastic free tumbler. (I did change out the straw with a glass one, and the silicone hole on the lid holds the straw tightly. No rattling while driving down the road.) The glass is thin, light, and strong! I put 180-degree hot water in it while its room temperature and I don't worry about it cracking. The silicone sleeve comes in so many colors! I found a silver sparkle one that fits me perfectly. The silicone is just thick enough to give it some insulation from hot and cold beverages, yet still fits in my car's cup holder. I would not tip it upside because it is not leak-proof but it is definitely spill- and splash- resistant. I also use it for iced beverages, juicing, or well-blended smoothies. 20 ounces is the perfect size for normal everyday uses.

The only thing that bugs me…
Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2023It’s a great desk cup!
- Sturdy to hold and pick-up.
- Quiet and stable to set down.
- It’s not like a plastic tumbler in any way.
- The glass is crystalline-like and easy to clean.
- The silicon sleeve feels nice and secure; as if it likes little hand-hugs while washing, or using.
- It’s easy to transport between my working area and the kitchen to get a refill.
- The lid lifts off with minimal effort, but sits nice and snug otherwise.
Fantastic style. Really. It’s like IKEA fell in love with Crate and Barrel and their kid grew up, went to visit friends in Okinawa and ducked into a café for a moment to get out of the rain since their glasses were all wet with rain drops and they accidentally bumped into in a Kickstarter project that used Helvetica instead of Avenir for all their marketing, and then they eventually fell in love and they had a kid, but not right away. That kid would be this cup. And this cup deserves to be hand-washed at least twice a week, rather than undramatically abused in a dishwasher next to its elder kitchen cupboard residents adorned with crusty left-over oatmeal chunks and dehydrated salad dressing swirls.
Some say the silicon gasket on the lid gets mildewy or moldy, but I’m just not sure how that’s possible if you remove it and clean it regularly like a responsible adult. Trying not to throw around words like “lazy” or “not good with details”, but I’m just not seeing how this would get grody. It’s not the cup’s fault. Just sayin’.
The silicon gasket does come off from the neat wooden (bamboo) lid with a little thinking about how it’s made and lightly prying it from the impeccably machined groves it fits into with the edge of a spoon or some other thin and narrow yet blunt object so as to not damage the gasket, and then contorting and pushing the straw port a bit back through its own hole to get it released.
The seal even at the straw port is great, though not totally leak-proof at the straw port because of the straw, you know, but the circumference seal is nice for typical cup usages. I haven’t knocked the cup over yet because of computers and papers on my desk so… maybe the silicon gasket seal is physics-proof and stays in place regardless of the effects of gravity, hydrodynamics and inertia? Probably best to not swing your arms or other objects around when near a glass of water (or whatever) and electronics and other hydro-sensitive materials.
The rounded edge of the glass feels nice when you wanna go strawless; which might be more often than you think since the straw—being some sort of cheap and nicely sized plastic tube (and consequently the only thing that bugs me about this product)—is really the only thing capable of leaving that plasticky chemical smell we’re all trying to get away from, hence looking at glass drinking containers here in the Bezos’ garage sale.
I do wish the straw was on par with the rest of everything else about this cup.
Just get the cup. It’s cool. Works great. It’s not designed to bounce so don’t drop it. If you do, though, because accidents and pets and kids happen, don’t blame-shift on the cup or the people that made the cup, or the pets, or the kids—unless they did it on purpose in which case trade them in for house plants if you lack self-control with “accidents”.

Finally found the one cup
Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2024I am a coffee addict. 20oz Americano always in hand. I'd purchase paper cups from restaurant supply stores before. Then I became chemical sensitive and the wax film inside the cups began to make me sick. My search started years ago with Tronco at the top of my list but another brand won. Both advertised as 20oz but that was to the rim of the cup. My measurements would be off if I wanted the lid on right away. The other brands had thicker glass while the one Tronco I got broke. Frustrated not being able to use any lids I bought more paper cups to use only for to go until that became too much.
I looked up these cups again and learned they started making larger sizes. Great! Can make my 20oz with room for the lid but not too large. Was only able to buy one 24oz at the time while money was tight. Took me a while to start using it because I'm weird and it was different than my others. I really wanted a set that were the same size but different colors. Finally had some money to order more 24oz but they had been changed. They're a bit larger so the lid will fit with 24oz. Now these are too big for me. I kept filling the cup to the top with cream by accident. The habit runs deep. They're great cups though! I thought maybe the 20oz were improved. I found some pretty colors for a great price and ordered one of every color. The size was right but they had a chemical smell so bad i had to take them outside. Guess only solid plain colors for me.
I cant compare the new with the old because it broke years ago, but no chemical smell and I CAN get the lid on with 20oz in it. The liquid doesn't leave room for an air bubble but a taste test will fix that. This is the closest to perfect I think ill get.
I like the silicone improvement on the lids. The bamboo doesn't get wet. When I get home I take the silicone off the lid, give it all a rinse then let it air dry. I dont worry about dog hair in my coffee or spillage.
Now I've found the cups I can use, I'm ordering one of every color so I dont go through another cup buying saga. That wasnt fun. With the sales I found its costing about the same price as a years worth of paper cups. Looks like i missed out on some nice colors. Wish they still had yellow and the kimichi green. Maybe I'll keep an eye out for new colors and keep the collection going.
Did not realize finding a non toxic glass cup with a lid for hot coffee would be such a task. I have what works for me now. Tronco is the best of them all. I'll add some pictures when the entire collection comes in.

Not a 100% bamboo lid
Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2026This is an awesome glass tumbler. I’m only giving 4 stars because the lid is not 100% bamboo, which was disappointing. The part that is inside the glass and that will come into contact with your beverage is plastic. I replaced the plastic straws with my own glass straw. Overall though it works great.

Sturdy with a nice grip, and no plastic needed anymore!
Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2020Updated 6/10/20 for clarity and better info. I purchased a single tumbler with the bamboo lid.
This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm packing my own water into the office now in larger silicone-wrapped glass water bottles. I poor water from those into this tumbler.
As a tumbler it's easier to drink from than the larger bottles. I can put it in my bag without worrying about it cracking due to the protective silicone wrapping. And it's easier to wash than the water bottles. This reduces my overall time expended on washing, since I end up washing the large cumbersome water bottles less often. Rather, I wash this tumbler with the rest of my dishes at the end of the day.
I do not use it as an on-the-go beverage container as I have a different product I prefer for that purpose. It could work well for that though.
Regarding the liquids: I use this exclusively for water, so I don't have experience trying to clean out other stuff, like smoothies, soda, etc. I find it easy to clean because I don't have to scrub it, just get it soapy. If I was using it for smoothies, I'd invest in a bottle brush to be able to scrub out the bottom. I wash by hand, and it's difficult to reach the bottom of this tumbler (though not impossible).
Regarding the straw: I don't use the straw and never intended to. I'm trying to avoid plastic. I'm more okay with silicone, especially on the outside to protect glass products like this. The hole in the lid is big enough to accommodate your own straw. I'd probably replace it with a glass straw if I needed a straw. The straw I received with the product seemed fine to me in general. Slightly wider in diameter than a normal drinking straw. (The straw doesn't have a ring to keep it inside the cup like I originally thought.)
Regarding the lid: I like the quality of the bamboo a lot. It's well-crafted, smooth, and pleasant to touch. Also, they did a good job with the silicone fittings, so that the lid forms a good seal and doesn't look silly when you fit it on (I've bought other products that did *not* get this right--it can go a long way toward aesthetics.)
Since I don't use this as an on-the-go water bottle, I only tend to put on the lid when the tumbler's mostly dry. It seems possible for the lid to mold if you leave it sealed with liquid in it for long periods. It is basically wood, after all, and wet wood can mold. If you want to use it this way, I recommend that you regularly wash the lid in soapy water and air it out so it doesn't stay moist too long. Don't run it in the dishwasher. And mineral oil can help the bamboo to last longer. The quality is good enough that it's worth it if you care about having a lid. If you don't want the mold risk at all, you'll want the metal lid version, or something with a silicone or plastic lid.
Month update: I've now had this product for a month, and I intend to buy at least one more. I'll surely try to replace it if it ever wears out on me. It works really well as a bedside glass of water for me. Because it's a cylinder shape, it's doesn't knock over in the dark as easily as a traditionally shaped drinking glass. Even if it falls, it's unlikely to shatter with the protective silicone. It feels like an important part of my routine now; I don't feel I could do without it.
Finally, the best part: There's no plastic that comes in contact with my water now. I fill up a few glass 5 gallon jugs at a local place. A jug sits atop a ceramic water dispenser with a stainless steel spigot that has silicone grommets. I've a glass pitcher in the fridge for chilled water. Another pitcher in the bedroom for late night hydration. It took some work, but it was worth doing!
If you're interested in how I got there: Water jug: 5-Gallon Glass Jug Stainless Steel Spigot I haven't found the perfect water crock yet; the one I got leaks more water than I'd like. If I find the *one* I'll update it here. This is *not* the one I purchased, but you're looking for something like this. Primo is a popular brand--theirs may be good.
Edit: I ended up buying the linked Primo brand and it works well.

Beautiful and functional. Seller constantly improving product
Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2020I've purchased multiple of these water bottles and love them. They're very easy to clean and use. The only time I've broken one of the glasses is when I dropped them on concrete - generally, they're very sturdy to regular tumbles and bumps that occur from normal use. They're also quite leak-proof, with the seal being easy to break for refilling but hard to dislodge when knocked over. The seller also has an EXTREMELY generous replacement policy and will ship you a new bottle if your breaks within the first year.
The main issue I've had with the product is that if I'm not cleaning the water bottles regularly (my bad habit is to reuse for a few weeks before washing), the ridges in the bamboo lid get mold that doesn't come out. Trying to use vinegar to kill the mold only warped the lids and give them a weird odor. When I talked to the seller about it, however, they replaced not just the lids I had molded but ALL of the lids, and the new ones they sent were covered with silicone on the portion of the lid that would be inside the bottle. I suspect this will solve the mold issue I'd been having, but now I have enough lids to swap them out daily just to be safe. :)
The newer line of lids also have a slightly wider opening for the straw. This fixed another minor issue I'd been having, where they were SO leak-proof that there wasn't enough airflow to the interior for me to have an easy time using the straw - I had to rearrange and tilt the straw a lot to get water out and still would sometimes have to try harder than usual. This has completely fixed the airflow issue.
The trade-off is that it's easier for the bottles to leak if they tip over, which they didn't at all with the original model unless you tipped the bottle entirely upside down. They compensated for this by adding four silicone flaps to add a milder seal around the straw, and the hole is now closer to the center of the lid so that water won't reach the hole when tipped over unless the bottle is mostly full. Even then, the spill ends up being a series of drops, so I'm satisfied with the slight spill risk in order to have an easier drinking experience.
The other element of the bottle is the straws, which I'm happy with. Each bottle ships with a clear straw and one that matches the color of the silicone. These do need to be washed regularly too so they don't get gross (shame on me with my sparse washing habits), but when I've had gunk or even a bit of mold accumulate inside of them from under washing they were very easy to restore.
Finally, every element of the bottle is fairly easy to wash. You'll want a thick straw brush and a bottle brush for the most ease; a small hand could fit entirely inside the bottle to clean it without a brush, but it's a tight fit. The trickiest part to clean is the ridges around the rim of the lids, but I've found this has gotten a lot easier with the switch to the new silicone covers around the rim.
So, all in all a nearly perfect product from a very reasonable seller. I love using these bottles and switching out the lids and straws in different color combos, and they look and work great. Excited to see what else they do with their products over time.

Love!
Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2026I absolutely love these cups! Super easy to clean and the silicone on the outside helps with grip to hold on top of the glass, as glass is super slippery when there's condensation from a cold beverage.

4.5 stars--Would buy again
Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2024Overall, this is a nice set of tumblers. The glass is thick and heavy (almost too heavy for me when it's full bc I have joint problems affecting both thumbs). The silicone is smooth and thick, with no weird little tags/nubs from molding that stick out. Seems like it would not tear easily. The lid seems well made... very smooth wood or bamboo, and doesn't seem like moisture between the wood and internal silicone fitting will be a problem. A few minor things keep it from being five stars (on paper, anyway) for me personally.
First, the straws are rigid plastic, very fat, and not quite long enough for my taste, so I use my own silicone straws instead. And as the straw hole has silicone to hold the straw in place (see photo), switching straws isn't a big deal. It's also soft enough of a fit that if you needed to use a disposable plastic straw from McDonald's, it wouldn't collapse the straw.
Second, the silicone fits on the glass like a sleeve--it's not a permanent integrated part of the drinking vessel. But there doesn't seem to be any way to easily get it off and on, so I don't know what you'd ever do if water got between the sleeve and the glass and created mold. These are for my personal daily use, so I'll just rinse them out from my herbal iced tea whenever I'm finished using them, and they'll be good to go for tomorrow. But washing *could* lead to problems if you need to submerge it in water, like if you put smoothies or protein shakes in it, then need to wash it in a sink full of dishes. (It also has a hole in the bottom [see 2nd photo] to *theoretically* facilitate sliding the sleeve on and off. This hole provides another way for water to potentially seep under the sleeve during washing.)
Third, if you track your fluid intake and are an anal retentive nerd like me, if you use it with the lid, it only holds 19 oz. You can't fill it up all the way to 20 oz and still use the lid without squirting a bunch of fluid out the straw hole, taking you back down to 19 oz. Yes, I measured. LOL
Still, I really like these tumblers. Money well spent. And for me, the detractions aren't worth knocking off a star.
UPDATE: Six months later and they're still great! Still using my own silicone straws, and the straw opening in the lid has not distorted like someone mentioned in a review happened to theirs with the included hard straw. The bamboo lids are in good shape, no drying or fraying or splitting. Washing has not been a problem. A tiny little bit of fluid might get between silicone and glass, either during washing or when pouring a drink out of a jug, but no mold/mildew has developed due to this little bit of seepage. They have been through the dishwasher many times, and handwashed in a sink full of water a few times. Still really pleased and would recommend these!

Reviewed in Canada on May 10, 2021Was looking for a cute water bottle this fit the bill. Quality materials used for the cup. Though the straws seem a little cheap

Tracie5 out of 5 starsWorth the wait, love the look and function.
Reviewed in Canada on January 27, 2021Loving this tumbler. I waited so long for it, the shipping did take some time, but it's perfect! The only thing i didn't like was the plastic straws and that was just personal preference, I'm used to glass and metal straws so the plastic felt weird in my mouth. I ordered some long glass straws and now it's perfect for me!
Edit: I've read some complaints about white spots or discoloration on the lid, I used some of my wood cutting board oil on it and it fixed that. I think it's just water spots from getting wet.

K-Bird3 out of 5 starsStain washes off
Reviewed in Canada on April 7, 2023The tumbler is fine, but the stain of the wood went spotty as soon as a few drops of water fell on it. Otherwise — it’s a tumbler, it does the job.
