    So happy with my purchase - I haven't tried any of them yet so I won't comment on flavor, but I wanted to leave a review to confirm that they arrived well packaged + vacuum sealed, with a 5-year shelf life (manufactured 4/20 and expire 4/25), all different flavors, and with the handy little pamphlet for people like me who are completely unprepared for an emergency (but trying to be better). ;)

      What is this not good for? Dont eat it as your every day snack. Dont eat it just because you dont feel like making food. Its not a snickers bar or a cliff bar. This is light weight packaged air tight in durable wrap.

      Taste test of the Cherry Flavor

      Consistency is like a firm graham cracker crust in the first bite. After that it falls apart like a graham cracker crust

      Taste... its like cherry. Pleasantly surprised. No after taste. Mind you i dont have a super sophisticated pallet. i like what i like and what i dont...i will eat in an emergency.

      Smells like a little bit of cherry but nothing overwhelming

      Since it does have a flaky texture to it i did cough on it a bit. water does help

      High in sugar so i started feeling the effects very quick for to much sugar. Good in a way because it will help me ration it out. (positive thinking)

      Overall i would prefer to take a jar of peanut butter as it has more protein and my kid and i like it more. BUT this is low in sodium so i dont get so thirsty after. Seeing as how this is for my bug out bag/ emergency kit i probably will not use them often. But in 5 years when they expire i will buy some more.

      I think these are great in small doses. They really are the best of the survival bars to me for several reasons: A small handy package that's even attractive, and also, they are flavored. I've tried the coconut and the cherry. I eat them a small amount once in a while, when I'm hungry and don't want to bother cooking. That way they don't expire. I also keep them in a tall plastic jar in the refrigerator so they are extra fresh. If you're going to store emergency food, or survival food, I think it's good to get familiar with it and see how your body reacts to it. I guess Datrex bars are my favorites and I wish they also made this handy size in good flavors.

      These are great products although I did not care for the fruit flavors that were delivered. I used to be an emergency manager and purchased a lot of these for my agency. They came in much better flavors such as vanilla and coconut. The emergency guide was not included with the emergency bars.

      I bought 6 four years ago. I ate one last month because it was time to start "retiring" them and replacing them with fresher stock. It tasted better than I expected even though it was approaching its expiry date. They go in my survival packs in my paraglider, glider and airplane ( 2 each). I like the small form-factor and weight. The price has shot up since I bought them last time but I will probably buy them again because they are convenient for my needs.

      Read the 3-star and below ratings for laughs. The complainers will not eat these because they will not survive the emergency they are intended to be used for. These taste very good, shockingly good. The sawdust comments are standard fair for those who eat candy bars and Twinkies.

      The texture is standard for this type of bar. They do not taste like sawdust (except to candy bar eaters). This are good to put in the family car for emergencies, break-downs, etc. I would eat these as a treat during non-emergency situations, such as watching YouTube videos.

      The price has increased dramatically since my first batch of 36 bars for $47. These are now $17.99 for 6 bars! That is an increase from $1.30 per bar to $2.99 per bar! Price gouging for CV-19?

      I still have 2 years left on my last order, so I am passing and will not buy these for those prices. Uncalled for, even when pricing in inflation.

      They are very good but I refuse to pay the price. These are one of several options I have in my plan. They can be replaced with cheaper options I hope.

      I bought these for emergency kits, one of which I carry every day and has stuff I use and replace frequently. I ended up hungry and would have had to wait hours to eat, so I pulled out my mini kit and ate one of my food bars—raspberry flavor. It was pretty tasty, like a light berry flavor in a dense sugar cookie. I liked it.

      The hope is that these will just sit in a kit until disaster strikes, but I was glad to have one that day.

      It’s also nice that they are different flavors. Eating one is great, but eating the same flavor all day long in an emergency would be tough. For that reason alone, I’ll be buying these bars rather than the unflavored high-calorie bars I’ve had in the past.

      Also, it’s nice that you get several smaller bars. I had one sealed package with a large 2400 calorie bar in it. That means once you open it, you have to eat all 2400 calories worth (within a few days anyway). I had one get bashed around in my bag and the vaccuum seal broke, so I was out all 2400 calories. With several smaller bars, if one package is damaged, or I only want/need those 400 calories to tide me over, I only lose/use one bar and all the others remain sealed.

      First off, to the reviewers complaining about these being non-GMO, high in corn syrup, etc... These aren't what you think they are. Go buy your regular protein/energy bar of choice like Cliff Bar, etc. These aren't a replacement for those nor should they ever be used that way. These should never be part of a regular diet for any reason. That's not their point.

      Plain and simple, these are survival bars. They provide quick energy to keep you moving, that's all. These are the same bars as you find in the large lifeboat survival food blocks. These are just smaller and flavored differently, that's it. Would you take a lifeboat block to eat while hiking? Camping? As a snack? Of course not. So don't do that with these, they aren't meant for that. This is dough that holds a ton of oil and corn syrup in it. It's meant to give you energy to burn and fill you up, not replenish and nourish.

      These are great to put in a survival kit or pack. I carry 6 in my BoB, along with a few dehydrated meals. Lightweight and taking up a small space, these are very easy to carry and use as a lunch or breakfast meal replacement. I would suggest only eating 1 a day as they are energy, but not much nutrition. They are thin and don't break or smoosh, so you can slide these into the nooks and crannies in your pack very easily.
