From nenena I got L.

So... I guess I should start with the obvious.

L from Death Note: SPOILERS but anyone who cares has seen it already. L was the fucking BOSS. He was interesting and cute and HELLA smart. I thought he was the perfect foil for Light and gave the drama a little character with his interesting quirks and flawless reasoning. When we lost him I realized he was the only reason I was watching Death Note, and quit. I still haven't seen the end. It went from an interesting game, as my buddy Aleph puts it, of "Cat and also Cat" to two assholes who I hate fighting over a book. Nuts to that, bring back the guy who thinks "keep your friends close and your enemies closer" means FUCKING HANDCUFFS.
Also I ship him with Misa.

Lina Inverse from The Slayers: Lina is, was, and always will be my FUCKING HERO. She strong, sassy, and doesn't take any shit. Shes one of the most powerful people in the world and she knows it, and won't hesitate to blow you to Kingdom Come if you piss her off. Shes heroic enough keep the world from being taken over by fucking demons or some shit or save someone from trolls or bandits, but selfish enough to charge you for the rescue or abandon a town she just blew to smithereens because, what the hell, she killed the dragon, right? I also adore that she doesn't have a voluptuous body or a skimpy costume, and shes not interested in love and romance, but shes not completely un-feminine either, she has her insecurities about her appearance and doesn't completely throw out the idea that someday she might like to fall in love. Lina is who I wish I had the confidence to be. I mean, she got the power to back that ego up, but even if she didn't she'd be a firecracker and I just love her for it.
Also I ship her with Zelgadis. SHUT UP DON'T JUDGE ME.

Lisa Simpson from The Simpsons: Lisa is who I would want to be if I was smarter. Shes intelligent, sensitive and thoughtful. She takes any problems as a challenge- ANY problem- and has the brains to win. Shes also comes across sometime as a know-it-all and a busybody but I love how she has so much energy and passion for her liberal and feminist beliefs. I love how shes a pacifist but not a non-confrontational one, she'll fight to get her point across, and sometimes fight just for the sake of doing so it seems (though that might just be a sibling things cuz shes usually picking fights with Bart.) Someday she is going to be one hell of a world leader.
I ship her with nobody. She is eight.

Loki/Leo (Twofer!) From Fairy Tail: So I'm still like halfway through whats currently available to read but I'd like to see more of this guy. I thought his backstory was tragic and beautiful, and his relationship with Lucy is funny and sweet. Actually Lucy starts with an L too so I'll just wrote about them both here. I actually sort of like Lucy (not as much as Erza) and would like to see more happen with her. I want to see her get stronger and more independent and not rely on Natsu and Gray too much. I'd like to see her grow like Sakura from Naruto. I think their relationship with each other is interesting, in that because of her magic he was afraid of her, despite his attraction to her, but now he has this love/respect relationship, which I think she shares. She has great respect for his power, it spoke a lot for her when she put herself on the line against, like, the God of all her magic powers to save him. So I like both of them, I like to see them work together and I'd like to see more of them in the story. As an aside, I've gotten two translations of this- is Aries Leo's sister, or lover?
I ship Lucy and Loki together. (I also ship Lucy with Gray a bit.)

Luna Lovegood (also a twofer!) from Harry Potter: What can you say about Luna? Shes a unique one, thats for sure. Is she insane, or brilliant? Either way shes fucking awesome. Luna has her own way of doing things and her own way of seeing the world. Nothing will dissuade her, she doesn't care how she appears to others. Because of that she has a hard time making friends, but when she does shes fiercely loyal. By the end of the series shes one of the strongest allies Harry has. I love her. Shes brilliant, original, brave, and creative.
Also I ship her with Neville.

BONUS!!

Lance Avenue from my own webcomic Red All Over: This is cheating, I know. But I got "L", I can't help but think of him and Lydia. (half of what I said about Lina I would say about Lydia so I chose to do Lance.) Lance was far from my most popular character. I needed him to fill a "courageous leader" role but I didn't quite give him enough personality in the beginning to make him worth following, so Ian ended up with more fans. (It doesn't help that it was probably pretty obvious I had more fun drawing Ian and his crazy faces.) After a while I started trying to give him some character defining flaws. I made him a little irrational, quick to fight, and entirely too emotional. For his good points, well... he's strong and brave, all leader-like in that respect, but that doesn't make him particularly interesting, I guess. Same with being generally kind and loyal. I guess there are some of the problems, theres not much about him thats awful but theres not a lot to like either, hes just sort of the vessel through which i told the story. If I ever started over, I'd try to do a better job making poor Lance likeable. I did give him a hobby, though; sewing. If I'd continued, it would have later been revealed that if he wasn't on this epic quest to save the world, he would have been a tailor.
Also I ship him with... well, FUCKING EVERYBODY at one point or another, but usually Ivy or Angelica.
