Anna Callahan for
Medford City Council
Listening to you
I love hearing from residents, especially people who donât normally come to City Council meetings. Please reach out to me to schedule a listening session at your church, club, or union, in your neighborhood, or anywhere else that you can get a group together.
Meet Anna
From the campaign to invest in Medford
Letâs make our city better together!
Iâm Anna Callahan, a software engineer and a mom living near Magoun Square with my son. Iâm asking you to support my second term on City Council this November.
So far this term we have brought financial responsibility to Medford (through our budget ordinance, stabilization funds, and investments in our schools and roads), reduced our rodent problems (through the Rodent Control, Wildlife Feeding, and Overgrowth ordinances), worked with experts to implement the comprehensive plans our residents spent years creating (including affordable housing and climate plans), and protected vulnerable residents from the Trump administration (through the Reproductive Healthcare, Gender Affirming Care, and Welcoming City ordinances).
My specialty is finding out-of-the-box solutions that solve our root issues here in Medford and that are proven to work in other cities. I need your help to keep improving our roads, trees, squares, and quality of life. I hope to earn your vote!
What I bring to the role of city councilor:
An engineerâs solution-oriented mindset with out-of-the-box thinking
Dedication to data and outcomes and researching what has worked in other cities
Commitment to meeting regularly with residents to tailor to micro-neighborhood needs
Real change isnât just passing policy â
it involves the whole community.
Meet Anna
Iâm Anna Callahan, Iâm a software engineer and mom, and Iâm dedicated to making city government work for everyone.
I moved to the area in 2003 and fell in love with it. We now live near Magoun Square and in the summer you can often find us at the pool â sometimes weâre there more than once a day! We love getting involved in projects where volunteers make amazing things happen. We sometimes go to School of Honk, weâve done the North Cambridge Family Opera, and we absolutely loved the Medford Cardboard Canoe Race. :D
Iâm super interested in how to re-invigorate democracy, especially at the local level. For the last few years Iâve trained people in red, purple, and blue states to elect better representatives to their city council by increasing the engagement of working people. I have a passion for hearing the voices of people who arenât usually engaged in politics.
