In June 1952, West Coast bandleader Dan Terry went into the studio in Hollywood to record four arrangements by Marty Paich for Vita Records. The band included Pete Candoli, Bob Clark, Ollie Mitchell and Carlton McBeath on trumpet, Bob Enevoldsen, John Halliburton, Fred Lewis, Jimmy Priddy and Lloyd Ulyate on trombone, Clint Neagley, Herb Steed, Tino Isgrow and Bob Lawson on sax, and a rhythm section of Fred Otis on piano, Lloyd Lunham on bass and drummer Shelly Manne.
