Remember Me?

Hey Everyone,

One of my resolutions in 2009 was to actually update in Livejournal about my life, even though I'm not sure who would even read about it.  That being said, let's recap.

New Year's Eve was spent at Manon's house celebrating with a group of people I thoroughly enjoy.  Andrew instigated Matt, Andrew and Matt made Hayley upset, Matt broke some sort of figurine, and Adriano was drunk.

What more could you ask for?

New Year's Day I saw Milk with Elizabeth and then had dinner with her, Justin, and Andrew at Chili's.  I liked Milk, but it inspired me in a different sort of way than it inspired others, I think.  I saw it and mainly wanted to yell at the entire gay community.

"Money equals acceptance.  If a state tells you that you can't be married there, then take your ass and your money to a state that will.  Then watch change happen."

Some people say they don't want to run.  I say it's not running.  It's putting your money where your soapbox is.

I got to go to New York that Saturday and see Pal Joey and Dividing the Estate.  I wasn't really wowed by either.  I didn't think Pal Joey had enough glitz to it, and the choreography left much to be desired.  As for Dividing the Estate, it just seemed like it didn't merit the move to Broadway.  I think it makes a nice little play that will probably be done in community theaters for years to follow.  That being, Hallie Foote was excellent, but I would have loved to have seen Julie White in that role, and Rue McClanahan in the Elizabeth Ashley role.

The rest of the time has been spent putting together the show I'm doing at the Book by Book bookstore at the Hope Artiste Village in Providence.  It's an evening of monologues I've written performed by my friends.  It's been terrific watching it come together, and I'm really excited for our second weekend, which is coming up in just four days.

I've also been performing regularly every month at LiveBait, a story-telling series that Perishable puts on.  It's so much fun, and it's only five dollars.  I highly suggest checking it out.  It's at 10pm the second Friday of every month.  Next month's theme?  Fake It 'Till You Make It.  I'm still putting together the story in my head right now, but so far I've been doing pretty well.

That's it for now,
Kevin
