The crystal cave
When Merlin has an unexpected meeting with the mysterious Taliesin, the wizened sorcerer takes the young warlock to the crystal cave and shows him a glimpse of the future. But this gift turns out to be more of a curse when, Merlin sees Morgana, set to kill Uther.
One of the best episodes ever!!! From the first minute, you feel the adrenaline high with Merlin and Arthur running to escape a gang of villains. The next moment, you feel the pain and tears in Merlin's eyes when he tries to save Arthur's life even using magic.
But an old sorcecer saves Arthur and leads Merlin to a stunning crystal cave where Merlin sees a glimpse of the future no matter how hard he tried not to look.
What he sees? Morgana kills Uther, Queen Morgana, himself in older age...
Merlin tries to stop Morgana from killing Uther in every possible way. The result was Morgana hit severely her head and almost dying but before that, she overhears Uther saying to Gaius that she's his daughter!! Also, the King demands Gaius to use every way and he meant EVERY WAY to save his daughter.
Merlin who is full of guilts decides to use the Dragon to save her life. Of course, the Dragon is not pleased at all but he fills Merlin with more powerful magic.
Merlin uses it and Morgana recovers! But she has one thing in mind: To kill Uther who will never officially pronounce her as his daughter.
Merlin tries to stop her but he faces her magical rage. She fails though but Morgause tells her that soon, they will use this information.
Powerful episode with powerful performances.
Once more, i loved the closeness of Merlin and Arthur who started wondering about how Merlin saved him.
The writers finally showed us bossy Merlin as he really is in the Arthurian legend and Morgana being Uther's daughter and i don't know if they show us her seduction to Arthur who is not aware of their blood bond.
I also enjoyed the Merlin/Uther scene which shows us a smoother side of the King.

Going to the Valley of the Fallen Kings.
They run again but Arthur gets an arrow on his back.
Merlin hides Arthur who is seriously wounded.
Merlin takes care of Arthur.
He uses magic to heal him but nothing happens.
Merlin talks to Arthur.
The rain becomes one with Merlin's tears.
An old man appears.
The old man knows Emrys and saves Arthur.
The man takes Merlin where the magic begins: Into the crystal cave.
Merlin feels disturbed from the images he sees.
Merlin doesn't want to see the future but he does.
Merlin cannot stand what he sees.
Merlin remains shocked till...Arthur wakes up and gives orders.
Merlin calls him a tod that he will turn into a handsosme prince with magic...or not!!
Merlin orders Arthur to move on.
Arthur wonders how he healed. Merlin doesn't answer.
Arthur is surprised by Merlin's attitude.
Arthur appreciates Merlin's help and Merlin asks for reward...'peace and quiet'!
Arthur expresses his gratitude for Merlin in front of the King.
Merlin talks to Gaius about the cave.
Arthur is preparing for Morgana's birthday present.
It is a dagger.
Merlin sees a crystal image happening for real.
Gaius thinks that Merlin is overreacting.
Merlin forgot his errands.
Arthur asks Merlin's opinion about his present.
Merlin feels relief that the dagger is a harmless knife.
But is it the perfect present for a woman?
Merlin gets prepared for the birthday gathering.
He's not worried anymore.
Morgana opens her presents.

He knows all about Morgana and refuses to cure her.

The Dragon gives magical healing power to Merlin.

Uther is happy.
Merlin couldn't bear everyone's grief.
Morgana tries to make Uther admit she's his daughter but fails.
Morgana feels bitter even when Morgause secretly visits her.
When Merlin saw a dead servant, he remembered another image from the crystal cave.
Merlin runs to stop Morgana.
She uses her powers and Merlin falls unconscious on the floor.
Morgana hides from the guards while Merlin is in danger.
Merlin yells like he did in the crystal.
Morgana is ready to kill Uther but Merlin gets fats there and breaks the window.
Morgana lies to Uther how she got in his room.
Merlin saved everyone and Gaius suspects that Morgana knows about being Uther's daughter.
Arthur's life might be in danger now for the throne's sake.
