Well, I went to Vinyl Edge after work today, and picked up the new Capitalist Casualties cd, and also got the new Machine Gun Romantics/ S.S.E.split 7" ep, and everyone was talking about Dimebag Darrel getting shot. Man, they're dropping like flies! The amount ov musicians dying in the last half ov this year (and in the past month in paticular) is amazing- first it was Quorthon (Bathory), then Robert Heaton (New Model Army), then Chrislo Haas (D.A.F.), then (worst ov all) John Balance (Coil, + tons more), and now Dimebag Darrel (not to mention John Peel, tho he wasn't in a band, his contrebutions to music and paticularly underground music were pretty substantial). I wasn't ever much ov a Pantera fan- their redneckness always kind ov annoyed me. I have one cd ov theirs ('Vulgar Display of Power') and it's ok. I don't know when thte last time I popped it in was. One thing about it- like 3 to 5 people were evidently killed, and I've read about 6 articles about it, and all I've seen mentioned is him- they won't say who else got shot. However on the Texas Rennaisance Festival community, it said today that someone who worked there is one ov the other people who got shot. I think this was the anniversary ov John Lennon's assassination, too. Anyway, I had better bail- I gotta get up for work at 5 AM.
