What the farkin hell!

Was thinking of doing something for my Birthday in April and Furry Connection North is coming up.

It's in the Detroit area and I grew up around there so that might be fun, it's all an Asian theme and I'm all about that!

So WHY is it farkin uber expensive to fly into Detroit? It's a month out and I would still have to pay 400 bucks round trip to fly there. And that is on American Airlines so the baggage would be extra.

I'm not dropping a grand just to go to a con in Detroit. Someday I will get to my home state furry con, but I guess not this year.

Body issues and health

So, here I am again in a down cycle.

Once again I joined a gym, found a goal, met that goal, found ANOTHER goal, met THAT goal and then let life sideswipe me yet again.

With the Motorcycle Trade show early in the month of February and then just getting back from Texas Furry Fiesta last weekend, I let my eating habits go to shit and I could not get to the gym all month. My weight has spiked back up to 244 from a low of 236 in mid January.

So here we go again, cut out the crap food, eat canned tuna for lunch and get with the program. I am starting P90X and my first workout was last night. In the first workout there is a lot of "pull up/chin up/reverse pull up" stuff. I have never been able to do one pull up in my life. And that was before I blew out both shoulders riding motocross.

I did my best and used a chair to help, hopefully by the end of 90 days I will be able to do some pull ups. The Ab Ripper X workout caused pain in my low back so I will have to modify a bit of what the workout wants or I will just have to figure out a way to do it with lest pain. It's a nasty, nasty workout though. I hope I can get through it by the end with little to no pain.

On top of all that I'm going frikin bald. And not in an easy to look at way either. Got a sprout of hair on top of my forehead then bald spot then more hair. And now it's so thin it looks more like a bad comb over. I don't know what to do about that other than shave the bunch off. Problem being I'm afraid if I do that it will never grow back in again if I'll have buyers remorse on shaving it all off.

Rogane is too expensive, lazer treatments are more so. Shaving might be my best option.

I want to keep my health as long as possible. I am 43 in April, the down side is closer than I think. I don't want to look like a creepy old man. I want to continue to look good, be desirable and take care of myself.

Is that too much to ask?

Running hard for the last few weeks has pretty much drained me. Had the trailer show back up here last night so I got on unloading it this morning.

We had this sportster trike also

My twin Brother, my niece and nephew came down to see me on Sunday and it was a lot of fun.

Right here Jay thinks he is gonna get this bike....not happening!

Brieanna looks good too...She is an artist also and into Manga and Anime...I'm the only one in the family she can talk to!

Not to much different from each other! ha!

This kit lets you keep the saddlebags, we are the only kit in the industry that does this.

It was a pretty cool show, Easyriders magazine puts this thing on and the Editor in Chief came over on Sunday and talked to me for a half hour about the Captain America trike and it looks like it might make the magazine. Street Chopper wants to shoot the Panhead and another magazine wants te FXR.

Everyone wanted pictures of the Captain trike, it was the big hit of the show!

This is Paughco's new 200mm rear tire FXR frame, and it was the frame motor picture you saw in my earlier post.

This is a rubber mount chassis using an FLH driveline

14" apes, black spoke wheels, other goodies Mostly a bolt on bike, not much fabrication here.

Here is the finished bike! I am so glad this is done and on time.

This bike is a number of firsts for me...First time doing a "Frisco style" tanks, First time making handlebars right off the springer top tree, First suicide shift bike I've built. Lets hope the crowds at the V-Twin trade show like it as much as I do.

Chain is cut to length and installed, rear wheel spacers are cut and installed, chain guard is slightly tweaked and installed.

Front brake is installed, Oil filter installed, Air cleaner installed

Rear brake installed, Brake light switch is installed (hidden under transmission) Sticker location chosen (Sticker is a repro of a Harley Knucklehead sticker)

Also, parts list completed and more parts ordered and should be in tomorrow. Still to go, oil lines, brake lines, throttle cable, grips, seat, tank, fuel line, spark plug wires, wiring, exhaust system.

If you look at the blue trike in the background, I also installed the wheel, hugcaps, trim rings and fenders. Tomorrow I will have to install it's exhaust system and saddle bags too.

Bike build update

So this is what I've had for over a week while waiting for parts....then I went to Further Confusion and the parts started showing up.

After driving in to work Monday from San Jose, I put in a good 5 hours to get some stuff done, but this is up until lunch today.

There is a bit more than this done now as I put in the oil tank and rear fender. I did not take photos as I left this evening. There will be more tomorrow!

Wow, all I can say is it was a world wind of running about. Did some voice over for Midwest Bloodfest http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59_CXRMv-JY which was a furry slasher flick done by my friends and shown at FC Unleashed on Sunday night. Furball and I then found a great way to end the show when they didn't have an ending for it.

I went to FC Unleashed and a Hockey fight broke out! WOO!!! I need footage of that BTW!

Also need pics of Dustykat if anyone has them. I didn't take many photos around the con as I was more likely in suit filming something or in the fursuit parade or throwing or attending parties.

Now to make the mad rush to finish two custom motorcycles for the Cincinnati V-Twin trade show the first weekend of February. After that I need to get stuff ready for Furry Fiesta and the FNL show we are putting on there. I also have some little filming to do for Furball and get that to him ASAP.

Cincinatti Bike Update

All mocked up and ready to be blown apart for paint

Completely tore this apart, cut, reshaped, rewelded.

These are custom one off. The bars are welded to the top tree and will become a new part number in next years catalog.

Wait til you see the paint and accent trim!

Another bike for Cincinatti, in a month and a half? Sure why not!

Gas tank is custom "Fisco style", front fender will be custom, handlebars will be custom, foot clutch, jockey shift.

There was a big tree lighting thing going on in Carson City last night that I knew nothing about. If I had maybe i could have found someone to call and get permission to entertain in fursuit but I will have to wait until next year.

I had to pack him up to go to San Jose this weekend for the holiday parade anyway.

I had a pretty weird dream last night and thus I did not sleep very well..

I was at some furry con in a place I'd never been before, I don't even know what state it was in. I was mingling about and this was the last day of the con so I was leaving the lobby.

Some guy as the front door had to unlock it to let me out..strange....on top of that I had no luggage.

Walking across the street to a triangular parking garage which had a few levels, my truck was in the very back corner bottom level. one side was a major street, the other was a fence to an apartment complex with a few holes in it.

For some reason, all my motorcycle racing gear was in the back of the truck, including my bike. Also there were chairs strewn around the back and UNDERNEATH my truck. Those fold up ones you put in a bag.

Getting closer to the truck, I see my bin of riding clothes is open, gear is strewn along the fence and it's wet. I pick it all up and it is all there, just strewn about, the weird thing is two sets of gloves have had the fingers cut off, and not all of the fingers...

The bike hasn't been touched, the rest of the stuff is all there...

Someone is with me, I am angry, we walk up and down the apartment complex driveway looking for possible perps...go into an apartment and I know the people there...all under blankets and watching TV..I leave saying nothing...

Back to the truck...then I wake up..

The hell?!?!?!

I think it might be time for a carrer change

So, this motorcycle thing keeps biting me in the ass. Just when I think I got it licked and can get comfortable, it changes. Shop went on 32 hours so I have had forced 3 day weekends for the last month.

Computer networking is starting to look more and more appealing. I have a lot of friends in that field so the help would be there.

I just need suggestions for books to start reading and what I need to think about for getting into this field. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Leading the field! Well, actually I'm in second at this point.

Elbow up and looking up the track! Just the way it should be done. Damn lot of years to get to this point.

And thhen I pull one like this, yea, I still need lots of practice.

I went 3-3 for 3rd overall. I moved to within one point of second place ovrall for the series. All I need to do it beat him heads up at the last race coming up on the 28th of november at Honey lake MX park.

Like Ozzy says, FLYIN HIGH AGAIN!

Lots of flat 4th gear corners on tis track, I put my ice racing skills to the test.

Also some slower corners too, being an almost completely sand track I had to do a lot of clutch work in the slower corners as you can see me here using too many fingers to work the clutch!

I came in 2nd overall for the race and moved up to 3rd overall in the series with 2 races to go.

Cameras

Well, the little hand held Sanyo Xacti 4 megapixel camera that I got from Smackjackel many years ago has finally started to die.

It will not take video anymore, and the pictures are starting to be hit and miss as to light, contrast and even focus.

So it looks like I need to get a new camera. The extent of what I use a camera for are:

1) Ebay photos for work
2) Fun times at conventions
3) videos at motocross races or other events (see #2)
4) landscapes in my rides around the state
5) reasonable price (under 300 bucks)

So, knowing that, What would my camera toting (and more up on technology) friends think I should get?
