The 18th BRICS Summit is an upcoming international summit of the BRICS nations, scheduled to be hosted by India in 2026 as part of its BRICS chairmanship.[1]
Background
[edit]BRICS is an intergovernmental organization comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and additional member states admitted in recent years.[2] The BRICS summit is held annually, with the chairmanship rotating among member countries.[3]
Between 14 and 15 May 2026, the foreign ministers of BRICS member states met in Delhi, India, ahead of the leaders' summit.
Indian presidency
[edit]India assumed the BRICS chairmanship on 1 January 2026, succeeding Brazil, which hosted the 17th BRICS Summit in 2025.[4] As chair, India is responsible for organizing the 18th BRICS Summit and associated ministerial and working-group meetings.[5]
Logo and official website
[edit]The Government of India launched the official logo and website for the BRICS 2026 presidency, on 13 January 2026, marking the formal commencement of preparations for the summit.[6]
