From replacing 紅／红 (hóng, “red”) in 紅衛兵／红卫兵 (hóngwèibīng, “red guard”) with 綠／绿 (lǜ, “green”). From the claim that Democratic Progressive Party supporters are militant or radical like those of the Red Guards in Maoist China.
