2 this weekend and counting. 

#1: lvling 31 sam in the shitadel. rng pulls a beetle. not til me and the other sam have tried to sc for uh... 0 that we notice. it's a chamber beetle. ruuuuuun! (we made it) "where'd that come from?" "i dunno, i saw a beetle chasing someone and grabbed it" meh- points for caring man, but look before you leap. 

#2: helping some buddies with promy holla. "shit aggro"..... yeah that's right, cerebrator aggro. as soon as i notice what it is, i tell everyone "don't blow 2hours cause we need them for boss- if it gets ugly, wipe" amazingly enough, we survive. some are waaaay in red, but no deaths and no 2 hours. and later on we beat promy holla. woot! :D

We've just started a new LS called RavensVanguard and we're looking for members. Right now we don't have too many. Basically, it's a casual LS that we're likely going to use for discussion, and to help each other out with certain things. It's really easy going, and yeah...that's about it.

So if anyone's interested in getting a pearl, see me (Salomaii on the server), Tyvia, or Kerik.

Again, mostly discussions, maybe some little mini statics and helping out with missions, BCNM's etc.

so i think my hdd is dead. 

when i boot up, the icon for it is on the screen, but it's not selectable. if i force selection by pulling out the two memory cards, the icon for the hdd is selected but it doesn't do anything when i press a button. i've checked and doublechecked controllers, it's not that. i've pulled out the hdd/network adapter and given the whole business a good dustbusting, but still nothing. sadly, i don't have the disc that came with it, so i can't run any troubleshooting. i think it must be dead. (it's a bit over 2 years old, and the ps2 itself is old... one of the first-gen ones.)

anybody run into this problem and find a way out of it? or does the way out of it consist of buying a pc/xbox?

silvchan @ 7:37am: So heres the lowdown, yesterday the second Guttler was onlocked by Keftenk, Which is OUT-fucking-STANDING considering Coffeeblack doesn't know ANY english.

I can ask Keftenk all the questions i need to ^-^ and from his posts it looks like the choke effect on guttler is no joke. he's talking about major -vit and so great DoT...

though still looks like rampage is better then onslaught <.

I guess when i made this LJ i was on duty every other day. so when i got off 2 section duty i couldn't update in a long time. Anywho, so this is the rundown...

I got brd to 65 and am taking a short break to get all my crown items. Brd is getting more and more fun. with enough DD i can just pull and pull and pull... with rng75 and thf60 and bst75 i've been pulling mobs for a long time. its what i do.
I also got all my items on my "To-Do" list. in one night on BST i killed Ose twice while waiting on Soulstealer to spawn. I dunno if Kard is 100% but i got it first drop. I was happy. Narahima and Hillion were both up as well... and i got 2 stacks of cock meat. I had a fun night in the labrynth. then early morning i go to camp Novv for my minstral's coat. little did i know he had Auto-regen x500 -.- i got the claim and had moosse after moosse on it... wiating for my roommate or Cowbst to come. Gilsellers stole on a swap (he drops siren's hair) he droped the hair and they gave me the coat because i had original claim... all in all i got both items i wanted.

So i finally joined LOD... i miss the people. I just hope i have enough free time to get brd to 75. i don't like missing events to exp. However a much more harsh internal crisis is turning my stomach. Byakko's Hiadate... I realize that bst will never get the lot on that. even when all the NIN's get theirs i still have SAM and WAR to go thru. by that time there will be more NIN replacments and by the time the linkshell will break. Its happened 3 times to me now. so to get Byakko's Haidate, i can't just wait in line anymore. i've waited and always been screwed over. -- there is 2 options what i can do:

1) i can sell some of my top teir equip that i have farmed hard for, and buy autumnstones for the linkshell. This is the more "Legit" way of getting my haidate. It helps the linkshell as well as me. I get my pants, and the linkshell gets money drops to help get off the ground. Other members get his Abj.s like shura haidate and such. it helps everyone out, but even in 3 kills he might not drop his haidate... this leads me to my second option.

2) for the same trade for the autumnstones i can get byakko's haidate garenteed. after speaking with the devil himself. I can just trade some equip, and he'll invite me for the drop. >.<

Though the garenteed drop seems like a much better deal. The direct affiliation with Gimya, would not only make me feel bad about myself... would probably total a bunch of friendships i have made in the game.

Even with my roommates support saying "screw that, i wouldn't give you and shit for "buying" your byakko's, you've waited forever for that shit." chances are most other poeple arn't going to view it with as open eyes.

I have been dwelling on this for a couple days. I really want to just go get it this friday. but now prof {my link leader} is pushing for option number 1...

catwho @ 5:44pm: I've been more or less unofficially promoted to the PR/marketing arm of my Dynamis linkshell.

If you have a 65+ and rank 6 job and you want to try your hand at an endgame activity, Dynamis is a great place to start. Even though I whine about dying all the time, it really is a lot of fun and has its own mini-storyline to follow.

Plus, you can't beat relic armor. :3

silvchan @ 12:30am: So yet again i sit here in the rx office hoping time will fly by quicker. in 3 hours i get to go to sleep and then wake up to a full day of ADD meds and Red Bull... and FFXI!

so yesturday during my occational 11 hours off, i got an invite from an old friend. MrLonely. hes lvling his warrior. The party was a great set up, brd whm blm war war nin. but the blm went afk every other fight, and the whm didn't focus during fights... after 3 or 4 fights everyone was fighting with slow on them.
These new camps in the aht urgan area seem to always be better then other camps. we were doing green crawlers, defliberators or something, in aveeeeeby caverns... {as you can tell, i don't know the area very well yet} I, Of course, brd pulled and quickly was reminded that pulling crawlers in an area with a ton of puddles gets to be very fun >.> I got 11k in that party and just as i was about to go to bed, i got a pure jp invite to go somewhere crazy. i got the mount z staging point outa that one, and another 8k exp... all in all i am 4k into 61 from just delvling back to 59.
Tomorrow's plans are to try and make my AllJobsHelper work, get my Castle zhails coffer key for brd hands, and hit 63 brd for minuet IV!!!

catwho @ 10:55am: Another ten members broke off from my HNM. I think we're unofficially dead.

Unfortunately, until it's officially dead, if I leave, I have to give back my noble's tunic. ;_; I kinda feel bleah because in the six months or so I've been with them, aside from the borrowed tunic, the only gear I've gotten has been Rostrum Pumps and an aquarian abjuration -- and I lack the eight million gil needed to get a pair of zenith slacks made, and I have two better pairs of pants to wear regardless! >_<; I've been paid about one milion total in salary, but that is more or less compensation for time, and seeing people get osode's and the like and millions of gil in drops from KSNM99 makes a million gil in salary stretched out over six months feel like chump change.

So now I'm stuck in a completely dead HNMLS until either the rest of the NA group breaks off and we reform, or I leave with those who left and give up the best piece of white mage gear in the game, with little hope of being able to obtain it on my own without a damn lucky KSNM99 run (and I currently only have 86 seals.)

Should I leave and be left wearing an Errant's Houppelande (which, although stylish and having OK stats, looks ABSOLUTELY HIDEOUS with mismatched WHM AF2) or should I stay and tough it out and hope I get to keep my tunic? >_>;

Getting into another HNM is also a problem. I do not have {sea} yet (my static is slow and we're in the quagmire of 5-3) and I only have one 75 job, WHM. Most of the guys who broke off can just jump right in and be inordinately useful to whatever shell they join, but until I get BLM to 75, I just am not versatile enough.

I didn't want to post this on the main community because it's not really public knowledge yet, although word will surely get out that we're dead dead dead sooner or later.

it's been a while since we did a large scale, full-linkshell event. so, who'd be up for doing an ecowar? (or a garisson, but those seem a little trickier to pull off, i think we have more ecowar vets among us) besides... i think we have a few ppl that have smn at 20, and smn is really nice for ecowars.

anyhow, if you're interested, post here with what jobs you have, (ecowar is 20 cap, and the only garisson i'd be remotely comfortable organizing is the saruta one, also 20cap) and your availibility.  i'd like to do this on a weekend, since we have several different time zones to contend with.
