While his father served as an engineer for Gen. Henry Shelton Sanford in 1911, Billy was the catcher for the Orlando Baseball team.
Army veteran of WW1, discharged as rank of Captain.
He followed in his father's footsteps in the abstract business and practiced law. In 1941 he was elected as Orlando's 26th mayor and served for four three year terms, more than anyone befor him.
In 1973 a park was dedicated in his honor in front of the Sun Bank Building at the corner of Orlando and South St. About 10 years later, the former Delaney Elementary School was renamed The Orlando Mayor William Beardall Senior Center and Park.
