- Decoupled hand and wrist position
- Now menu has an different position that is optimized for natural hand interaction
- Improved input gestures
- Now trigger can be only triggered with a thumb + index pinch to prevent misfires and system menu now checks if other fingers are in proximity to reduce amount of accidental triggers when using hand tracking
- No longer reports out of range
- Reporting out of range seems to be a degraded user experience so now when it loses tracking it stays still until it gets new data
Previous
- Gesture Input
- You can now interact with overlays, keyboard and menu with pinch gesture and to close/open SteamVR Menu make an triangle with your two hands
- Improved controller switching mechanism
- Now the mechanism works by first you need to hold your "thumbsticks" and then click your controllers together, now you are using Hand Tracking and to get back to using controllers, press any of the buttons on either of the controllers
- Added installer for Windows
- This is to ensure compliance with best practices to ensure an external driver installation path and to reduce the friction to get the driver running
NOTE: manual installation is provided AS IS and is not an encouraged method of installment.
