Zohara OS 2026.10.07

GitHub only accepts release files up to 2 GB and the Zohara ISO is 3.9 GB, so the ISO is not attached to this page. Every ISO release is hosted here instead:

Write the ISO to a USB stick with Ventoy, balenaEtcher or dd, boot from it, and choose Install Zohara (or Try Zohara to look around first).

Before you boot

• Turn off Secure Boot. The bootloaders are not signed yet.
• If the installer shows no disks, set the storage mode to AHCI instead of RAID / Intel RST.
• On a PC with Windows, choose Install alongside or Manual partitioning. The installer never picks "Erase disk" for you.

What is in this ISO

• Settings with the new Personalization pages (themes, lighting, lock screen, text input, start menu, taskbar position, fonts) and Gaming "Your games" (finds Steam, Lutris and Heroic games by itself) plus manual "My games".
• The OS update flow in Settings and the Store for apps (Flathub), as separate programs.
• The ISO build now installs libinput-tools and downloads packages more reliably.

Zohara OS is a young project. Try it in a virtual machine or on a spare computer first.
