Native macOS workspace where AI agents build live, interactive SwiftUI interfaces through A2UI.
The app combines the GenUI renderer, validated A2UI tool calls, local Claude and Codex runtimes, and an OpenAI cloud runtime in one desktop experience.
The target macOS workspace direction uses a conversation rail beside a wide, responsive A2UI canvas. The canvas is intended for dense but readable results: comparison tables, decision cards, status notices, controls, and follow-up actions. The toolbar exposes runtime and connection state while the composer stays available at the bottom of the workspace.
- Output-first workspace with a collapsible conversation transcript
- Live A2UI canvas backed by native SwiftUI components
- Claude Code, Codex CLI, and OpenAI Cloud provider switching
- Fail-closed tool interception and component-graph validation
- Semantic, advanced, and rich component catalogs
- Surface and event inspector
- Deterministic offline demo surface
- Interactive actions that round-trip to the active agent
- macOS 26 or newer
- A matching Xcode release
- The sibling GenUI workspace submodules initialized
- Claude Code or Codex CLI only when using the corresponding local provider
CLI authentication remains outside the app. GenUI does not store provider API keys for local runtime sessions.
Open GenUI/GenUI.xcodeproj in Xcode and run the GenUI scheme.
The offline demo does not require an agent CLI or a network connection.
Choose OpenAI Cloud from the provider menu. The app connects to
ws://127.0.0.1:8787 by default; set GENUI_CLOUD_URL to an HTTP(S) or
WebSocket base URL for another deployment. Cloud mode uses
genui-agent-client-swift; local Claude and Codex modes remain available.
