Name: Sami.
Age: 20. (on sunday, actually.)
Location: new jersey.
Why you have decided to join: I've had night terrors since I was a kid.
-------
Oddly enough, I had opened this page earlier last night to join, and then I was like, "Well, I'll do it tomorrow."
Then I go to sleep and have ridiculous nightmares. Talk about weird.
I remember going to the hospital because I was having horrible nightmares/night terrors that were causing me to lose sleep, or not sleep at all. (Weirdly enough, this is the case in real life, except that I've never gone to a hospital for them. They'd just tell me I have night terrors- things I already know.) So they're performing all these tests, and they're like, "well, we have to do this procedure, but you can stay awake." I don't know, had something to do my liver, or whatever. Irrelevant, really.
When they finish they hop me up on vicodin, which knocks me right out in reality, so in my dream I was yelling at the doctors, "you fucking idiots! now i'm going to get sleepy and I'm going to do the exact thing I wanted to avoid!" No one seemed to care.
Then I was running around, trying to find a doctor to tell again, and every time I told a nurse or a doctor, they would lose their thought process and go blank. Suddenly, unable to do anything. I realized it was their dreams killing them off, and I was trying to stop it before I surrendered to sleep.
I realized you had to find the things that they were dreaming of and "kill off" the nightmare. I was doing it, and things were going well.... then, she got me.
MY nightmare had caught up with me. We were falling. I was seemingly watching it from a movie screen, and we were falling in this black place of nothingness. She reminded me of the girl from "the ring", except that when I was "watching" my dream in this theater, I actually was covering my eyes to not see her face for some reason. Apparently that was part of the solution to her being "defeated".
I eventually woke up, scared shitless nonetheless at 4:45 am, bewildered and terrified. So getting back to sleep was a pain because my dreams tend to haunt me as long as I'm wrapped up in my blankets. So I lay perfectly still and hope she doesn't crawl into bed next to me.
*shudders*
...ugh.
