heatermcca 😟exhausted

Wow. I'm tired. - House!

Like, I could have taken a hearty nap today of about 4 hours. Or eight. Anyway.

Much fabric gotten today - and then I went to Hancock's to see if they had something I could use for the white sleeves on that a-line wool damask kirtle. They didn't. No surprise - I'll be making a nice upper middle class piece of this kirtle and loose gown, I think, so I might as well just spring for the 40 mm heavy white silk, if they want to try to charge me $11.95/yard for crap like poly-cotton or acetate. I did find a couple of other lovelies on the $2/ yard table, though.

Lessee.... Oh! By the Giggle Shop, there's a fire-baked pizza place that just opened up, run by an actual Italian - born and raised 5 hours from Rome. *Damn* fine pizza - oh, but! They also had sorbetto and honest-to-God gelato-thank-you-God-for-Your-mercies. Yummy, both of 'em. Meg had a small gelato, and I had a medium mango sorbetto. Mmmm....

We refolded the tent that A loaned us for this weekend so that it takes up 3 cubic feet, instead of 20. We put up the new pop-up for testing it out - and I realized that with the weather, walls were a necessity, and the pop-up came without any. So back to Hancock's for canvas, because Ron was closed. Mind I had known for a few days that I'd need to get walls made, but forgot to get any canvas gotten from Ron, so off to Hancock's.... ::sigh:: I HATE paying that much for something, when I know that much better prices were available with better planning.

The Judy linen arrived today. Considering that we're sleeping till we wake up tomorrow, there's a slim, slim chance that the hanky linen could arrive before we leave. Here's hoping we have both space and that the UPS guy runs a good bit early.

Meat pies (Crustades) are made (actually in oven for last stint), groceries are gotten. B is taking care of laundry and has kindly ripped up the canvas into 2-yard lengths, ready to be sewn together tomorrow, with ties to quickly follow. I'm just doing a rough job on these. Joins will be double felled, but not turned under and felled like you're supposed to do. They might be fixed later, but we'll see. Any revamping will definitely be done after the move."
Inspection went as well as we expected. There are a couple very small things for the seller to fix, in accordance with the contract's $200 limit, but everything else is very minor, mostly either disgustingly cheap or cosmetic.

We need to get a survey done for marking off the two acres, but so far all is in line for the April 19th closing! YAYYYYY, a la Kermit E. Frog.

Which really makes me wish I'd not had to spend $72 in canvas tonight, but ::shrug::. This being Fool's War, I should be able to replace that, at the very least, on Monday. Naturally, Meg still needs the smock I worked on but didn't get finished last weekend - all it seriously needs is a neck facing, and sewn up the sides. I also need to make her a supertunic or *something* really easy, because she needs another item of outer garb.

So tired. Bed as soon as the pies are pulled out and placed to cool. Buh-bye.
