Holy crap!

Fayetteville does a Dickens and 1860s holiday thing! I didn't know! It's this weekend, so I can't pull that together but maybe for next year...? Of course, I'd also need to find out their policy about "patrons" walking around in the clothing.
Rose has croup. This is about as delightful as it was with Meg, but hopefully tonight and tomorrow night will be the worst of it and she'll be good. We're working on increasing the moisture in the house, cutting back on the (gas) heat and running the humidifier full bore while keeping a hot pot of (spiced, for smelly-good) water on the stove. We've got one end of her bed propped us, and I try to encourage her to sleep with her upper torso on a pillow when she's in our bed.

Which last night started at 12:30 instead of her normal 5. I'm a light sleeper anyway, but I woke up with every cough or hindbrain-judged weird sound. Some time in a steamy bathroom definitely helped ease things. She got decent sleep but I think it safe to say that I did not.

All of this is not helping my own nicely developing head cold. Coffee is my friend, today.
It's Veteran's Day. If you serve or have served in any capacity, my thanks.
And just who the hell is this rude? His rudeness was outstripped by hers by far, beyond just willfully putting hands on another human being who didn't want her to do that.

I know some of my readers are atheist/agnostic/Gentile but I think you'll agree that this behavior is Not On. Who touches someone else knowing they don't want the contact? I have a hard time fathoming that behavior, much less excusing it as christianet is doing. ETA: It appears that christianet does not approve of the behavior. Whew.
