Go. Read.

Dude's really funny. Read the PR entry.
Yeah, so the past week-ish has sucked for me. I'd like to say that it's nothing that an attitude adjustment and a big glass of tequila wouldn't fix, but well, it wouldn't. I need sleep, good food (okay, so a Kashi frozen pizze has gone a long way toward helping with that just now), less need for caffeine, and sleep.
AND A FUCKING VACATION.
See, I'm not sure here knows it, but Ron Hamilton, proprietor of Hamilton Dry Goods had a bad accident, got seriously ill, and then passed away. We found out about his death the day before my birthday and.... *deflates* Yeah, I still can't really talk about it. I miss my friend, Meg misses her (informally) adoptive grandfather. We miss him a lot. I find myself thinking pretty often about how he'd dress down some idiot or other. I'd heard about the fall but not the lung cancer until the beginning of last week. Before the week was out he had died. That dick. Never went to a doctor if he could help it.
By the same token, it is just like Ron, just quintessentially Ron, to be a bad example.
*sigh* I got some tequila in his honor but it's just sat in the cabinet. I'll break into it at some point and drink to him. His casket was just him to a T. His very-talented-with-carpentry son made it, and did very well. Ron was buried wrapped in a buffalo hide he'd always treasured as a mark of his own ancestry and his interests. He's always treasured that thing. I'd see him pat it every once in a while when he passed by it. The man could and did pass for Buffalo Bill (this pic's kinda eerie in reminding me of Ron, actually), once his hair'd gone white and sorta laughed his ass off about it, since he was also possessed of First Nations blood.
So, things have sucked fairly hard since last Thursday. I declared a do-over for my birthday. I might do that in February, invite some friends over or something, I dunno. If I can.
I haven't been sleeping very well and it's been compounded by Rose's suddenly waking up in the middle of the night again, usually two and a half hours after we've gone to bed, ourselves.
She's made great strides forward in the past week with communication, so that's VERY GOOD. But I wish she'd get over the bit where she doesn't sleep well following important development accomplishments. I wish that so very much.
God, I just want to sleep.
