Slow Progress and Holidays
Hadn't updated since before the holidays so I thought I'd drop by and give it a quick go.
Really, the holidays weren't all that bad or all that great to be honest. Michael and I went to my house first, got smashed, and then were able to deal with his parents and siblings, not to mention their children better. Dinner and presents, as well as a good round of Dominoes (which I won, of course) was good at my parents. It was relaxing to be away from this house and these people for more than one or two hours. It seemed like Michael really enjoyed himself as well, and we were both pretty giggly. From them, Michael got an electric razor/trimmer, a bunch of T-shirts, and we both got a deep fryer/steamer/crock pot thing. I got a bunch of T-shirts, a frog cell phone holder, and a watch.
Michael's family was a bit different of a situation. They're loud and obnoxious, the children are spoiled, and some of the siblings are stuck up. Also, we're not allowed to drink, or even be intoxicated around his mother, so therefore, we had to keep that little bit to ourselves. However, Michael's spectacular trip to the bedroom to sleep off his alcohol kind of alerted one of his sisters. At least it was one of the ones we like.
The next day was a big to-do at his grandparents' house, where is great uncle and his wife was in town and wanted to cook for everyone, but it wasn't that bad. We holed ourselves away in the sunroom and only talked to people that came to us. Not too bad. Add some toy helicopters, and it was more than liveable.
That was about it for the holidays, and tomorrow is New Year's Eve. I have no earthly idea what we're doing, other than continuing work on our freakin' apartment. Yes, we're still working on that stupid thing. We have the walls painted and the fixtures in, we really are nearly done, but it's just little things that are slowing us down, and we want it to look nice. Some people are telling us to rush it on in, and some are still wanting a few things perfected, so it's in the air about when we'll be done. All I know is that we still need money for kitchen cabinets, so that it will still be a while.
