Dear yule goat,

Thank you for writing for me! I’m starfishstar on AO3 and on DW. Here are some general notes, then fandom-specific notes below:

Likes: A focus on character interactions, be that friendship or romance or family. Found family dynamics. Humor and banter. UST (all the UST) as long as it resolves by the end. Happy or hopeful endings: angst and complexity are fine – I like stories that are realistic! – but I do need at least some degree of hope. Basically, if you love these characters, I'll love anything you want to write about them.

DNW: Just the big ones: please no major character death, non-con/dub-con, or graphic violence.

Treats: Yes please! (And btw I'm a big fan of the yearly Yuletide Madness Drabble Invitational. Any drabble treats will be received with great delight.)

Yuletide mini-challenges: I opt in to the following Yuletide mini-challenges!

Yuletide Madness Drabble Invitational – I'm a perennial fan of drabbles in Yuletide, and would be delighted to receive any. I generally also try to write a few myself, especially if I have a lot of ideas but not enough time to develop them all into full fics. :-)
Unconventionyule – especially for the anthropomorphic fandoms, but also in other fandoms if you have a cool idea for them. I'm pretty open to anything: If you're excited about it, I'll probably be excited about it too, because I enjoy seeing people explore what they're enthusiastic about!
MultiLingYule – write me a story in German, Icelandic, Yiddish, or maybe even Thai???
Femslash Festivus – For the All the Things She Said fandom!

New words this week : 757 words which brings my October wordcount goal to 4,353 / 20,000, and friends, I have to say, I don't think I'm gonna make it.

WIPs worked on this week : 2, with no new WIPs (yay!)

Very low wordcount this week, but I haven't been doing much writing, either. (I actually think that my wordcount should be a bit higher, I've been pecking at some other things here and there and not really been keeping track of them--Ellipsus makes it very easy to do things on my phone, but my spreadsheet I use to track progress is on my computer and I don't always remember to add to it later...) But doing pretty okay otherwise. Got some stuff around the house, and taking advantage of the lovely autumn weather with some long walks, etc etc.

The Old Guard

☆ food truck au : 519 words which brings the total to 195,818 words and still struggling to get back into the groove on this one. I want to, I keep thinking about it, and coming up with little bits to add to it, but when it comes to actually sitting down and making forward progress with actually writing it out... it's so hard to make my brain focus on it. Ugh, and it's already the end of October, fuck. I desperately need to finish this thing.

☆ soup au : 238 words which brings the total to 6,061 words and I keep thinking maybe I should just focus on this to get SOMETHING done and posted?? But again, so hard to make my brain focus.

New words this week : 1,306 words which brings my October wordcount goal to 3,596 / 20,000, which isn't bad, all things considered!

WIPs worked on this week : 2, with no new WIPs (yay!)

Not much of a wordcount this week, but then again most of my writing time went into editing so that's all right. Hoping to get back to making words this week!

The Old Guard

☆ food truck au : 1,077 words which brings the total to 194,988 words and feeling kind of stuck on Chapter 15. I don't know why. It's mostly written out so all that's left to it is fleshing out the scenes in it, so it should be easy at this point. I think I just need to get traction on this thing again.

☆ the water's always greener : 229 words which brings the total to 1,041 words and it's DONE!! Going to let it settle overnight and give it another once-over tomorrow morning, and then hopefully will be posting it. It's the first thing I'll have posted in over a year and I'm stupidly nervous about it.
