Extreme Makeover - Icon Making Edition!
It's time for a new activity here at
icon_talk! I actually planned to post this back in February, but for some reason that didn't happen, lol, so better late than never, right?

Show extreme transformations from the original non-edited cap/image to the finished icon.
Extreme Makeover - Icon Making Edition! is divided into three parts, here's a rundown:
- Anyone can participate in this. You don't even have to be an icon maker to do part 2! :)
- You do not have to do everything listed here, there are 3 parts so you can do one thing or all three, it's up to you!
Part 1:
- Look through your community/journal at the icons you have made.
- Look for the original images/caps the icons are made from. (preferably the exact images, but if you can't find them, pick ones as close as possible)
- Compare the original not edited caps with the icons.
- Pick the icons you feel show the most extreme transformation from original cap to finished icon.
- Post the caps and icons beside each other in a new comment here, so we can see and marvel at the "makeover"
- You can post as many icons+caps/images as you like.
- Since the caps/images are huge, please post them using hypertext links:
The point here is to showcase the most extreme transformations from cap to icon.
It can be an extremely dark cap that you transformed into a bright colorful icon. It can be a grainy cap turned into a smooth and soft icon. Basically anything, as long as you consider it an "extreme makeover"
Part 2:
- The same as in Part 1, but here you can post icons (+ original caps) from other icon makers that you feel show "extreme makeovers"
- Remember to credit the makers!
- Since the caps/images are huge, please post them using hypertext links:
Part 3:
- Here you can make brand new icons with the "extreme makeover" theme in mind.
- Find caps/image (maybe some that you've never worked with or even considered working with before, perhaps challenge yourself and pick caps you consider to be "impossible to work with")
- Post any questions as a reply to the first comment below!
Have fun!
I also wanted to let you know that I've created
icomm_central a community devoted to help your icon community dreams and ideas come true!. I talked about this community over here.
I would love to see you all over there!
