Thank you, this is a very kind and thoughtful response! <3
Yeah, I think feeling a little "barely", at least at some point, is probably more common than anyone could know - I've certainly seen that sentiment echoed across a variety of marginalised groups, though I don't have enough intersex community to speak to the phenomenon in only that context.
As just one example, I remember going to a non-binary writers' workshop once and being surprised to see every single attendee sheepishly raise their hand when asked if they ever worried they might not be "trans enough" (as did I)! The conversations that followed were really helpful - it was clearly a big secret source of shame and worry that folk were reassured to see they weren't the only ones dealing with. I hope that with more works like "Barely" Intersex in the world, more people will feel empowered to discuss these feelings and challenge the unhelpful social narratives that lead to them forming.
Likewise, I'm happy you're here and that your creative work led me to look up the agenital spectrum - I have a bit more intersex knowledge now, though I still have a lot to learn! (I'll always be bitter that none of it was taught in my science class when we were learning about puberty and reproductive traits, but nothing can be done about that - we can only aim to ensure future generations will get those educational opportunities!)
