Application Procedure
Step 1: Completion of online application
- Applications may be submitted from birth for Reception / Preparatory entry and two academic years in advance of entry for Senior School.
- We DO NOT consider applications for Year 11 and Year 13. Year 11 is the second year of a two year (I)GCSE programme and Year 13 is the second year of a two year A-Level programme.
- Once you have submitted the online form you will immediately receive a confirmation email; if this does not arrive please check your junk email folder.
- Our non-refundable application fees (Reception to Year 4 : HKD 2000, Year 5 to Year 12 : HKD 2500) must be paid via Bank Transfer or PayPal at the point of application.
Step 2: Assessments and Interviews
Reception
- Review of the application form, supporting information, latest school report, if applicable
- Review of the Reception Entry Questionnaire completed by the applicant’s current kindergarten
- Review of English Language competency in the form of a play-based assessment
Year 1 to Year 3
- Review of the application form, supporting information, latest school report
- Review of the Y1-3 Entry Questionnaire completed by the applicant’s current school
- Review of English Language competency
- An evaluation of the child’s ability in Phonics may be requested
Year 4 to Year 7
- Review of the application form, supporting information, latest school report
- Externally moderated online computer assessment
- Writing task
Year 8 to Year 12
- Review of the application form, supporting information, latest school report
- Externally moderated online computer assessment

Step 3: Waitlist and Offers
The academic team will review the application. If the applicant has met the required benchmark for entry, then they will be placed on the waitlist until a space becomes available in which time an offer can be made.
When a place is offered, parents accept by paying a non-refundable Registration Fee equivalent to 10% of the annual school fees and the appropriate debenture payment. Please refer to Fees & Debenture Information. The Registration Fee will be credited against the fees for the child’s first term at the school. Please note that a parent in receipt of a place offer is required to confirm the place within ten working days. Failure to do so may lead to the place being withdrawn.
Application Checklist
Before continuing with the online application process, it is recommended that you have all the below required documents on your device, ready to upload:
- Recent photograph of the applicant - must be saved as a JPEG ( *.jpg) or PNG ( *.png) format, and not greater than 1MB in size
- Copy of the photograph page (and the visa/permit page if applicable) of the applicant’s passport. If the applicant has more than one passport, please attach copies of additional passports.
- Copy of the applicant’s birth certificate
- Copies of the applicant’s school reports for the past two academic years (Must be translated in English if required, Photos and screenshots will not be accepted.
- For Sixth Form only – a Letter of Application. This letter should include likely A Level choices, possible university path and interests inside and outside of school.
- Copy of the Application and Assessment Fee Receipt. (Reception to Year 4 : HKD 2000, Year 5 to Year 12 : HKD 2500) - The fees are non-refundable.

Admissions Questions
1. How early can I submit an application for my child?
We accept applications from birth for our Prep Schools, and two academic years in advance (1st September) for Senior School.
2. Am I too late to apply for my child?
We do not have application deadlines but would recommend that you check with the Admissions Office (admissions@kellettschool.com/ +852 31200700) if there is already an extensive waiting list.
3. What percentage of students continue from Prep to Senior School?
On average 80% of our students have continued from Year 6 to Year 7.
4. Are the students mostly from the UK?
Approximately 50% of our students are of British nationality and have studied in a school in the UK or at an English medium international school.
5. Does Kellett offer scholarships?
Currently Scholarships are only available for current students rather than those seeking to join the school.
6. How to apply for Twins / Siblings?
If you would like to apply for Twins, or children in different entry points, please complete the application form for one child. Log into the account you have created, from your DASHBOARD click ‘Add New Applicant’ and you will then be able to complete the relevant application form for the sibling and you will be linked as a family.

7. What is the difference between the campuses?
Kellett is one school across two campuses, with two Preparatory Schools (Pok Fu Lam Prep and Kowloon Bay Prep) and one Senior School at Kowloon Bay. Please find more details in our website here.
8. What are the class size?
Class sizes are usually kept to a maximum of 23 students, enabling children and families to be known as individuals.
9. How many classes do you have in each year group?
Pok Fu Lam has three classes per year group, whilst Kowloon Bay has two classes in Preparatory school.
10. Which curriculum do you follow?
Kellett offers a holistic education that follows a modified English National Curriculum. Our curriculum prepares our students for GCSE and IGCSE examinations, which are taken in Year 11. We are proud to be one of few schools in Hong Kong offering the prestigious A-level programme in Years 12 and 13. Please find more information about Prep curriculum here and Senior curriculum here.

12. What is the student-teacher ratio?
In a child’s first year in Reception, their class teacher is partnered by a full-time teaching assistant, from Years 1 to 4 teachers are supported by a part-time teaching assistant, and in Years 5 and 6, an assistant works across the whole year group.
