Hello, my name is Christopher Leech (aka Chimp195) I’m a PhD Researcher from Liverpool England. My PhD is in Psychology and I’m looking at video games and student mental health. As you might guess, I care about video games, the people who play them and how we all experience our mental health. I’m also a person with Albinism which means I’m visually impaired, legally blind, or severely sight impaired. I also have lived experience of ill-mental health and speaking about it is something I think is important to help reduce stigmatisation and why I’m researching the area. In my none work time, I enjoy content creation! I stream weekly on Twitch for my show Blind Psyche – because I’m blind and do the psychology thing. We chat about mental health, and psychology themes in the games I’m playing as well as holding space to allow people to chat honestly, and openly. You can also catch previous streams/let’s plays on YouTube. I also host a podcast called Psyched to be with you in which every episode I chat with an amazing guest about who they are, what they do and why they do it. It’s all great fun, and I love doing it to create a little space on the internet for myself. I also post blogs and sometimes reviews which all come with an accompanying audio version. I’m also a proud streaming ambassador for video game and mental health charity Take This.org and a champion for Safe In Our World, I’m also a mentor for the Kind Creatives initiative. Working with these organisations is a pleasure and a privilege and supplements my work and content. If you’re here, I hope you enjoy the content and if you do please like, share, follow etc. If you want to support on the next level and are considering supporting monetarily there are multiple ways you can do so with various benefits/rewards. Have a look at the Patreon Tiers and rewards, or maybe consider buying me a cup of coffee on Ko-Fi.
