All my usb devices disconnect for a split second when using Windows 10

I've been having this problem the last few months where all USB devices disconnect very briefly and reconnect, this sometimes happens as often as 3 in 3 minutes, and sometimes it gets more spaced out, happening once every 20 minutes or so. I've clean installed Windows 10, updated it to the latest version, and the problem persists. I know that the problem is neither the USB devices nor the ports, since they all work perfectly when using Manjaro Linux (which is what I use 99% of the time except to play some games that work better on windows).

This is a very annoying issue, since not only I'm constantly hearing the device disconnect sound, but also my microphone, mouse and keyboard stop working for a split second (Around 0.5 seconds), which is very bad when gaming.

I searched for errors in the event viewer logs but could not find any relevant logs. Using the software USBLogView I was able to identify that all devices are in fact being disconnected and reconnected at the same time.

Hello, I'm Louie, and I'm happy to help you today. Hope you're doing well and safe there. I'm sorry that you're having trouble with usb connection.

I would suggest you to try disabling USB Selective Suspend settings and see if that helps.

Press Windows key + R. This will open Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for ‘Run’

In Run dialog box, type ‘control’ and hit enter.

Click on ‘View by’ and change it to large icons.

Look for Power options and open it.

Under preferred plans click on Change power plan settings for ‘Balanced’ power plan.

Now click on Change advance power plan settings.

Now expand USB selective suspend setting and change it to Disabled.

    Restart the PC.

You may also try the solutions provided on the thread below.

Hope this helps and looking forward for good results.

    Kind regards,

    Louie

I did as you said and tried the fix you suggested, and the ones listed in the other thread. The issue still persists. (although I think that it is less frequent now, but this might just be a coincidence).

EDIT: It was definitely just a coincidence. The issue is happening just as frequently.

I think it is an iCUE problem/issue at this point sadly. I had fixed the mouse pause by changing the Polling Rate to 500Hz/2 ms (It apparently loads a different driver and causes the mouse to pause above that, but now it still pauses on startup).

I have the same issue. Has anyone fixed this? Are they going to fix this? I think it is iCUE.

I have the Corsair H100I RGB Platinum, The Lightning node pro, and the night sword RGB. It seems to do it right as the lights changed on startup too, and the mouse pauses.

Has anyone fixed this? I've tried literally everything listed above and it's still happening 🙃

    Hello DanielFreire2,

I'm sorry if the steps didn't work. It seems that the issue is complex than what I expected.

It may be best if I release your question to other advisors so they can take a look at it and let them share some other ways that can fix the issue.

You take care and keep safe always.

    Sincerely,

    Louie
