Storyline: Their second encounter.

SourMilkTea (6:18:15 PM): George knocked on Dr House's door, the sound echoing down the hall. He wasn't entirely sure this was a good idea, he was sure House had much more important patients to cater to, and he probably didn't care what he had to say anyway, but there didn't appear to be anyone else with a legal qualification to listen to him, so he didn't really have anyone else to talk to. Plus, George hoped House wasn't joking about the whole "come play guitar with me sometime" thing, as he had a guitar case hanging off his shoulder as he stood in the hallway.

Kishamaru42 (6:26:16 PM): House looked up, trying and failing to see who it was that was knocking on his door. Peepholes, it turned out, were useless unless you actually went through the energy to get up very close to it, and like hell he was getting up to check. He could deal with the surprise. "Come in."

SourMilkTea (6:40:49 PM): George turned the door knob and let himself in. He pulled the guitar from his shoulder as he shut the door and sat it on the floor, leaning it against the wall. "You busy, doc?" He asked, albeit somewhat stupidly. It didn't look to be so, but damn habitual politeness usually won out.

Kishamaru42 (6:48:22 PM): House blinked, double-checking the vacant chair across the desk from him rather dramatically. "Can't you tell by the bustling atmosphere and the patients sobbing about their horrendous lives to me?" He leaned back farther in his chair, resting his right elbow on the corresponding arm "What, are the happy pills not working?" he droned, though his gaze had slid with interest towards George's guitar case.

SourMilkTea (6:59:24 PM): George smiled, keeping his laughter quiet, as he approached the empty chair. "No no, happy pills are fine, save for my now crazed appetite." He responded. He sat in the chair with a sigh. "Just felt like I could use some more time around someone sane. Met this new guy, Paul, and he's great except he panics about germs, and the other bloke I know is keen to getting loaded and having sex, which removes the element of conversation; not to mention he's hardly eighteen." He confessed, his elbow on the armrest, his hand against the back of his head.

Kishamaru42 (7:17:49 PM): "What, you're turning someone down for sex?" House laughed. "Thought that was one of your things." Finally registering the first part of George's short introduction, he nodded. "Yeah, that's a common side effect. Just be glad you're not one of my other patients...his might induce a coma." House's head cocked slightly. "...I don't think I ever mentioned that to him, though..." He shrugged.

SourMilkTea (7:30:36 PM): George chuckled quietly. "Yeah, it is 'one of my things', but...I kind of wish it wasn't." He paused and glanced away. "It seems like as soon as I befriend someone, I end up sleeping with them and it just screws everything up. I don't even have any close friends but one, and if I'm not cross with them or haven't known them long enough, then I've slept with them." He stopped and looked at House with a smile. "If I keep going on like this, I may need something a bit stronger than this Lexapro shite."

Kishamaru42 (7:36:13 PM): "Hell, if you keep going on like that, I may start needing to borrow the prescription." House frowned. This man would complain, and then smile. Odd. "You're very eager to please, aren't you? Would make sense that sex ended up being your thing then..."

SourMilkTea (7:40:49 PM): George blinked. He hadn't ever thought about it that way before. "You...do you think so?" He asked thoughtfully. Once he thought about it, it did seem to make enough sense. It seemed like a very paranoid thing to do, though, and George didn't want to have anymore disorders tagged onto him. "Could I do something about that?"

Kishamaru42 (8:07:47 PM): House shrugged, mentally flipping through anything he remembered from his sociology classes. He could hardly believe he was actually counseling a patient and not just prescribing pills, but hopefully if he played it off the LSD addict in front of him wouldn't notice. Didn't seem too much of a stretch to him. "Other than just realizing that it's a stupid complex to have?" House shifted in his chair, resting his head on his other hand. "Well, who's your friend that isn't your fuckbuddy? Maybe there's something about them that makes it different. Just figure out what it is so you can apply it to other people eventually." He shrugged. "It might be power, your dynamics...its probably something, though."

SourMilkTea (8:15:45 PM): George thought for a moment. "Well, I haven't slept with any of my bandmates, but we've known each other since we were teens, long before any of this shit came up. Once I started experimenting with things like drugs and sex, I've gotten like this. It's not even just people I befriend; there's also people I've...y'know, met at parties or something. Strangers. People I don't know as well as my mates." He thought for a moment. "Do you think that's why? Because I've known them before our band gained some success, and before I started getting into drugs and all that?" He wasn't sure if there was a connection, yet at the same time, there appeared to be one.

Kishamaru42 (8:29:21 PM): "You mean, do I think the fact that now you're constantly high and off your rocker has something to do with you acting weird?" House bit his tongue, narrowing his eyes as if in deep thought. "Uh, yes." Now they were getting somewhere, it seemed, though. George had figured that all out on his own. That was a good thing, wasn't it? This psychology thing wasn't so hard. He knew it wouldn't be.

SourMilkTea (8:35:17 PM): George's shoulders slumped a bit. "I don't see how it solves anything. The only connection between the people I haven't screwed is that I've known them most of my life. Now, unless you've got a time machine -- doubt it -- then I'm at a loss." He sat forward and pointed a finger at the doctor. "If you even mention the idea of a chastity belt, I'll hurt you." He added as an afterthought, the slight smile on his face probably not helping his seriousness.

Kishamaru42 (8:45:38 PM): House's mouth dropped open a little. "I would never! That's just cruel and unusual." A pause. “Unless, y'know, you feel it would help..." He grinned before his face relaxed, nearly frowning. "Tch. Is my peppy little Englishman despairing? Next thing you know you'll be eating icecream by the pint, watching Casablanca and crying." He shook his head, over-playing his disappointment, but privately a little concerned.

SourMilkTea (8:55:06 PM): "It sure wouldn't help me pride any." George retorted with a crooked smile before allowing himself to laugh at House's recent jab at him. "Maybe there just isn't anything to be done." He sighed. "I'd say to keep me away from people, except it's like you can't overcome your fear unless you're exposed to it, y'know? It's probably all in me mind anyway." At this point, he wanted to dismiss it. That's how he was; he liked to try to ignore things when they started to bother him too much.

Kishamaru42 (9:12:55 PM): House, however, had a real problem letting things go. Especially once he'd decided he was going to figure that problem out. "Well of course it's all in your mind." He rolled his eyes. "The point is, it wasn't always in your mind. People never really change," he said adamantly. "So clearly, you're still you. The boring, less-sexed up you. You just have to figure out how to get back to that." He sat back in his chair, sufficiently proud of himself.

SourMilkTea (9:24:59 PM): George sighed. "I think I'm fast on my way, if I keep myself locked up in here, away from sane people and drugs." He mumbled. "That probably has two outcomes: I'll grow out of this addiction, or once I'm out I'll screw every person to walk by." George let his face fall into his hand once he finished. "And even then, there are still people here in this hospital too, though I'm afraid of most of them."

Kishamaru42 (9:39:41 PM): "Hmm...or both. You could get better and then get worse right after you left. Don't forget that one." Watching as George rested his face against his palm, House sighed. "Hey. Don't start getting all angst-ridden on me. Do I look like I'm going to let you ruin my record when I've hardly even started out? You'll get over the urge to fuck everyone's brains out, trust me." His gaze shifted slightly off, to George's shoulder, no longer feeling entirely comfortable looking at his face.

SourMilkTea (4:14:20 PM): George only heaved a sigh in response to the doctor, adjusting so his cheek rested in his hand. "I'd better...considering I'm a qualified slut." He looked up at House. "I'm shocked you haven't called me that one yet." He stopped, seeing the look on his face, and sat up. "Am...am I boring you, or making you uncomfortable?" He asked somewhat reluctantly. "I mean, it's no problem for me to talk to someone else. I've been rejected a lot more times than I think you can fathom."

Kishamaru42 (4:33:18 PM): House felt an odd sensation in his stomach, though he stubbornly ignored it. "Hey, I'm pretty sure it's my job to be thinking of the insults, as you so kindly pointed out. After all, I've got better timing than that. It's all in the delivery, you know." Shifting to rest his weight on his opposite elbow (he was doing that an awful lot lately, wasn't he? He should probably check that out later) he continued, "Not a problem? Well, if you feel like dealing with complete morons. Most other patients can't even get drugs assigned to them correctly. ...Or find a doctor at all, for that matter. But not you, you lucky thing." Grinning sardonically, he added, "You got me. Now suck it up."

SourMilkTea (4:42:09 PM): George tried not to smile but unfortunately, he did. "Well with the way you're looking, you look as if you're sick of my chatter. I don't want to have you start avoiding me or anything." He spoke, still smiling. "You're just the only sane person to talk to right about now. Suppose I am lucky then, aren't I?" He examined House, his body language showing what looked like uneasiness, but it would be impossible to get him to open up. George would just have to step lightly in conversation then.

Kishamaru42 (5:05:41 PM): Holding back a sigh as the other seemed to calm down, House felt slightly annoyed at himself for how he'd reacted before. "Damn right you're lucky, it's not as if you're the easiest person to deal with," he snapped harsher than usual, before pausing, collecting himself back to his normal level of snark. "Hah, I'm sane?" he latched onto that. "I can only imagine who else you've met that I'm that boring in comparison." Thinking a moment, he corrected himself, "...Actually, I can go a little beyond just imagining. Some of my patients are just plain batshit insane, as the old folk like to say."

SourMilkTea (5:15:04 PM): "So you agree with me, then." George mused, smile almost smug. "I actually haven't 'met' a whole lot of people, but you're the only one who can completely fathom what I say, so that defines you as sane." He explained. "Even though a lot of friendly faces are showing up here, that not only doesn't mean they're not sane, that proves they're not sane." He continued, laughing a little.

Kishamaru42 (5:30:43 PM): House chuckled in response. "Aww, am I your best friend here? I'm touched. And a little worried about your tastes." Getting bored with sitting (and with how comfortable George seemed to have gotten around him), House stood up stiffly from his chair before limping around to the front of the desk, leaning against it in the five or so feet between it and the 'patient chair'. "Change of view. Makes all the difference in the world for these kinds of things," he shrugged.

SourMilkTea (5:55:34 PM): George didn't mean to give a surprised look, but he hadn't realised that he had never seen House get up from his desk chair. The only thing that tipped him off was the doctor's limp. "You okay there, doc?" He asked politely, nodding in motion to his leg. He didn't want to pry into touchy matters, assuming it was a touchy subject. He couldn't help showing concern, though, but he expected to get some harsh jokes about that too.

Kishamaru42 (6:01:59 PM): House, for his part, was at a momentary loss of how to answer, before he realized he must not have ever gotten up while George was around yet. "About as okay as you can be with half of your thigh muscle missing," he said breezily, spreading his hands along the top of his desk and leaning back on them. "I'm surprised you hadn't heard about the crippled asshole that works here yet, actually. I hear I'm getting a bit of a name for myself." Switching tactics midway through, he feigned a hurt voice. "And after all the time we've spent bonding, you didn't know," he winked at George.

SourMilkTea (6:11:20 PM): George laughed. "Asshole doctor, not Crippled Asshole doctor." He explained. "I'd ask just exactly why half of your muscle is missing, but something tells me it's a story for another time." He ran a hand through his hair absentmindedly, a loose, stray thought running by for a split second wondering if it was getting too long. He pushed the thought aside instantly. "And you do realise these 'bonding sessions' have more or less mainly consisted of me rambling on, right?" He added as an afterthought, grinning in humour.

Kishamaru42 (6:17:18 PM): "Trust me, I have," said House, his voice of one long suffering. "Though as you pointed out, it's a story for another time. Always jump to conclusions, you." House smirked, rather unashamedly happy that he hadn't needed to do a thing to get out of elaborating on the story so far. George was probably too polite for his own good, but it was starting to become almost obnoxiously endearing. Emphasis on the obnoxious, of course.

SourMilkTea (6:51:32 PM): George smiled when he got the feeling that House was a little more at ease. Obviously, his leg was a touchy subject, but he understood, and knew not to pry. He wasn't the one doing the consoling, after all. "It cuts the middleman out, doesn't it?" George replied, and soon realised he was at a loss of words. They had migrated from talking about his addiction, so it seemed that subject was closed. He remembered his guitar that he left standing in it's case near the door, but wasn't sure if House saw it when he came in. Instead of asking, he stayed quiet; he wanted to know what was on his mind now.

Kishamaru42 (7:08:20 PM): House watched the other, waiting, and his brow slowly furrowed as George stayed quiet for longer and longer. "...am I going to get the silent treatment until I share about my life-changing injury? Bit juvenile and cruel, don't you think?" Prodded House, more bothered than he'd care to admit by George's sudden silence. Was he waiting for something...? House drummed his fingers on his desk, cocking his head at him.

SourMilkTea (7:17:21 PM): George laughed -- more like giggled -- at House's more than sudden irritation. "I told you I was going to wait to ask about your damn leg for another time!" He exclaimed through his laughter. "I've just run out of things to talk about, unless you want to revisit my crap band, my unfaithful sexlife, or my interest in Eastern religion...which I doubt." He added, calming his laughter. "You don't have to keep me 'round if we don't have anything else to chat about...that is, if you do want me around." He spoke in a sneaky tone, even though he was making it obvious that he was messing with him.

Kishamaru42 (7:28:11 PM): The fact that House managed to frown back at this point was really a tribute to how much practice he'd had with that expression - even so, his eyes were betraying him. "I think we've discussed that already - and if I wanted you out, trust me, you'd be out. I'm under no obligation to keep patients around." Secretly satisfied at how much more cheerful George seemed from before, House cast around in his head for an idea to talk about, since apparently they'd exhausted all the usuals. And he couldn't argue, really, being as easily bored as he was. And, being himself, the first question that came to mind was, of course, "So, do you go both ways, or are all those friends of yours girls?" He was pretty sure that aspect hadn't come up yet.

SourMilkTea (7:44:11 PM): George grinned somewhat emberassed. "It's been girls up until last year, then it's been both." He explained. His slight bashfullness was a surprise even to him. He usually talked openly about his sexual experiences. "Even in that case, there's only been a small handful of blokes, not very many at all, though considering the circumstances, it looks as though that could change." George just hoped he wouldn't cave under the pressure. Maybe there would be a benefit in always staying in his room alone.

Kishamaru42 (7:52:06 PM): House smirked, glad to have set the other a bit off-balance. He was less annoying while he was flustered, somehow. A bit bemused (not to mention amused) he blinked at the last bit George said, before leaning forward conspiratorially. "Are you hitting on me, you cute little thing?"

SourMilkTea (8:01:04 PM): George felt himself blush faintly, completely surprised by House's response, though not showing it in his face. He instead match the doctor's smirk with his own. "You dirty birdie. I was only emphasising that this hospital doesn't have one single woman in it, but if that's how you want to interpret it...then the real question is, are you hitting on me?" he trailed, his eyes narrowing, smirk still firmly on his lips. Of course he was just playing along, but he would be lying if he said he wasn't amused, on different levels, by the turn of the conversation.

Kishamaru42 (8:12:52 PM): Oooh. He was playing along.
...idiot. Unless of course he really was interested, which of course House could believe. He made canes look good, dammit. His smirk turning into a toothy grin, House pushed off the desk, standing up as straight as was really possible. "And if I was...?" Nothing wrong with seeing how far George was willing to go with just jokes before he started getting serious again...as fun as the banter was, of course.

SourMilkTea (8:20:29 PM): George shifted in his seat, sitting somewhat sideways in the chair to face the doctor, and he leaned back against the armrest. "If you were then it would be a shame; I could do better." He shot lazily, but grinning, crossing one leg over the other as he spoke. George knew this wasn't serious; he wouldn't be surprised if this was some twisted little way of House finding out how the sex addiction worked. He wasn't interested in his doctor, though. Still, it was the most fun he'd had in a conversation in some time. At least he could have some fun with this one.

Kishamaru42 (8:33:31 PM): "No doubt, at least in your mind. Unfortunately poorly-sung love songs don't quite do it for me," retorted House with a wink. "In fact, you'd probably be sorely ill-equipped to hit on me." House paused, head tilting back. "...pun quite possibly intended." Waiting for George's response, House pondered whether he should try walking over to him. Once he got there he'd be good, though somehow he had the feeling that tripping halfway there (why had he left his cane behind his desk?) might ruin his effect a bit.

SourMilkTea (8:44:15 PM): "No see, I've done better." George responded, swinging his leg that was perched over the other. "Of course, everyone has their opinions; it's all in the mind." He continued, watching the doctor, trying to translate his mannerisms and body language -- or lack thereof, but he was too amused to really care. He was wondering how exactly they had gotten knee-deep into this...what was it? A flirt-fest? No one outside of the room would probably believe it, anyway. He feigned insult at House's last remark. "Ill-equipped? Are you implying something of me, doctor?" He asked, his voice raising a little, trying not to let an amused smile come to his face.

Kishamaru42 (9:00:53 PM): House was definitely enjoying this. Who knew that man could be so bold? "I'd say that's all in the mind," he chuckled. "If you think I'm implying something...well, maybe there's any underlying self-esteem issue we need to work on, hmm?" This time, House nearly took a step forward, used to having his cane, though he quickly caught himself and swung his foot back and forth a few times, as if that had been his intent. Hopefully George wouldn't notice, though he seemed to have a penchant for noticing. And then pointing it out. "At any rate, let's see some of that apparently amazing flirting or yours. Unless you're just bragging for bragging's sake..."

SourMilkTea (9:08:10 PM): George gaped, falsely, and scoffed. "And here I thought we were flirting this whole time." He mused. "For one, you're very misleading." He began, wagging a finger at House. He swung his legs over and leaned against the other armrest towards the doctor, a smug smile on. "And two, if that wasn't flirting, then I'm almost concerned to see what flirting with you is like. Besides, what do you want me to do that for? What, you're not interested or anything, are you?" Deep in the back of his brain, George wondered if at some point during this conversation House stopped being a doctor and started being...well...whoever else he was.

Kishamaru42 (9:23:16 PM): House laughed at that, backing up to the side of his desk as he did so. He'd made up his mind now, though he'd really rather not kill himself in the process. Reaching over and grabbing his cane, he limped as dignifiedly as he could back to the front of his desk. "Interested or anything? Well, I think that's just vague enough to tell you absolutely nothing, even if I answered yes."

SourMilkTea (9:36:52 PM): "You avoided my questions. Interesting." George pointed out before licking his lips. "You're holding out on me. That's not very nice, y'know." He was still trying to figure House out. What, he wasn't really trying something here, was he? It was hard to tell. "And even if you did choose to answer yes, there's nothing holding you back from elaborating, now is there?" He added on, leaning back into the chair once again. "What, are you shy?"

Kishamaru42 (9:50:50 PM): House tapped his fingers along the top of his cane, thinking. Was he starting to lose at his own game? Not for long, if he had anything to say about it...alright then. "Well, I suppose you have a point there," he began, taking a few slightly halting steps forward, closing the distance between them to about a foot. Leaning on his cane to bend down, House stared at George's face, about six inches away from him. "Do I really seem like the shy type?" He practically purred, though he didn't move to do anything further.

SourMilkTea (2:37:24 PM): George sucked in a silent breath when House came in so close. This was beginning to become very interesting. The line between play and actual flirting, if you could call it that, was beginning to blur; it was hard for George to tell if this was all still a game, or if House was getting serious with this. It was almost as if he was trying to be intimidating by worming his way into his personal space. George smirked. Two could play at that game. He leaned in forward, closing the small gap between them, their faces nearly coming together. He tilted his head slightly before he responded with a satisfied grin, "No, you don't." He sat back in the chair, still smiling, head still tilted. "I like this colour on you, doc." He continued, looking over the man in front of him. "I'm not quite sure what it is, but...I like it."

Kishamaru42 (2:49:33 PM): House glanced down at his clothes; his usual t-shirt (red today) with a blazer over it. Riiiight. "Which, of course, would be code for 'you've got great tits' if I was a woman. Not sure what it means here." House tilted his head, mimicking George, though House's eyes were rather lower than the other's face. "Which reminds me, I like those...pants on you."

SourMilkTea (3:01:06 PM): George chuckled a little. "It's just a saying. Means I like this mood of you." He explained. Deep down somewhere there was frustration building from this long over-drawn "conversation", and George was beginning to get restless, but successfully ignored it as he grinned at House's final comment. "You've been looking at my pants, have you?" He spoke. "And what brings your wandering eyes there, pray tell?"

Kishamaru42 (3:16:16 PM): House shrugged, grinning. "Probably the idea of what's inside of them, of course," he said nonchalantly. Staring as closely as he was at the dark-haired man, House tried to read him...was he bored? During this? Huh. Reaching out his free hand, House laid it against George's upper chest, leaning forward to the side of his head. Whispering secretively in the other's ear, House asked, "You remember asking if I was interested? I just may be..." Grinning, he continued, "Got an answer for that?"

SourMilkTea (3:26:35 PM): George couldn't help when he inhaled deeply, somewhat shakily, his chest rising under House's hand. He swallowed, trying to think of a response. "Wouldn't that kind of ruin this doctor/patient relationship here?" He whispered back. There was a thought running through his brain that wondered if House was still just messing with him (which would seem a bit sadistic, but then again, knowing House...), which made it hard to act upon the doctor's actions. Considering George's weakness to these sorts of situations, it was proving difficult to keep himself composed. He turned his head towards House, the side of his face touching the other man's. "If you're interested, then why don't you do something about that? I'm sitting right here and everything..."

Kishamaru42 (3:43:59 PM): House snorted, his breath ruffling George's hair in their close proximity. "Ruin it? I'd think it'd help the relationship. Get us closer together and all that," he said, lightly running his hand down from George's chest to his stomach. His grip on his cane tightening (he wasn't used to standing bent over at that angle for long periods), he chuckled at the last thing the guitarist said. "You keep saying that, but do you mean it?" House leaned his head back a few inches so he could see the front of George's face, before he darted forward again, kissing him hard on the lips. Well, he'd probably find out now...
