Talk:Spam blacklist
- Proposed additions
- Please provide evidence of spamming on several wikis. Spam that only affects a single project should go to that project's local blacklist. Exceptions include malicious domains and URL redirector/shortener services. Please follow this format. Reports can also be submitted through SBRequest.js. Please check back after submitting your report, there could be questions regarding your request.
- Proposed removals
- Please check our list of requests which repeatedly get declined. Typically, we do not remove domains from the spam blacklist in response to site-owners' requests. Instead, we de-blacklist sites when trusted, high-volume editors request the use of blacklisted links because of their value in support of our projects. Please consider whether requesting whitelisting on a specific wiki for a specific use is more appropriate - that is very often the case.
- Other discussion
- Troubleshooting and problems - If there is an error in the blacklist (i.e. a regex error) which is causing problems, please raise the issue here.
- Discussion - Meta-discussion concerning the operation of the blacklist and related pages, and communication among the spam blacklist team.
- #wikimedia-external-linksconnect - Real-time IRC chat for co-ordination of activities related to maintenance of the blacklist.
- Whitelists
There is no global whitelist, so if you are seeking a whitelisting of a url at a wiki then please address such matters via use of the respectiveMediawiki talk:Spam-whitelistpage at that wiki, and you should consider the use of the template {{edit protected}} or its local equivalent to get attention to your edit.
Please sign your posts with ~~~~ after your comment. This leaves a signature and timestamp so conversations are easier to follow.
Completed requests are marked as {{added}}/{{removed}} or {{declined}}, and are generally archived quickly. Additions and removals are logged · current log 2026/09.

These all belong to one person, and the sites say so themselves. psychology.com's about page: "Acquired by Seph Fontane Pennock and rebuilt from the ground up". baricboost.com's names him too and adds that he "previously founded PositivePsychology.com and currently operates Regenerated.com". regenerated.com and fatfire.com are recorded as his in Wikidata items he created himself (Q139819645, Q140313886). positivepsychologyprogram.com is the old positivepsychology.com domain and redirects to it, so there's no point doing one without the other.
He adds them here himself. His first two edits ever, in September 2014, put his domain into en:List of positive psychologists (en:Special:Diff/624515891, en:Special:Diff/624548135), and one of those links is still in the article twelve years later. On 9 May 2026 he added eight baricboost.com links across eight medical articles. Three tripped the link spam filter, all eight were reverted, and he put one back afterwards: en:Special:Diff/1353331008, en:Special:Diff/1353331116, en:Special:Diff/1353331216, en:Special:Diff/1353331402, en:Special:Diff/1353331563, en:Special:Diff/1353331738, en:Special:Diff/1353331915, en:Special:Diff/1353335242.
Then he stopped using his own account. He created a Wikidata item for psychology.com on 26 June 2026, and eleven days later the citations began, each from a new temporary account with exactly one edit to its name: en:Alzheimer's disease on 7 July (en:Special:Diff/1363030973, removed the next day as an unreliable blog post), en:Stanford prison experiment on 31 July (en:Special:Diff/1367031282), en:Cognitive dissonance on 17 August (en:Special:Diff/1369848983). The last two are still live.
Related SPI: en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/SephFP
The numbers across all public wikis: psychology.com 4 links, regenerated.com 3, fatfire.com 2, baricboost.com 0 since everything was reverted. Cheap to stop while it's small. I'll admit regenerated.com and fatfire.com are preemptive, neither has been spammed yet, but both are sitting exactly where psychology.com sat in June. He owns quenza.com as well and I'm not asking for that one, its few links looks like ordinary citations by ordinary editors.
positivepsychology.com is the other extreme: 262 links across 47 projects, plus 53 to the old domain. Most were added by ordinary editors, so this isn't a sockfarm, it's what a content mill looks like once it has been seeded, and he seeded it in 2014. Nine of the accounts that added it have since been blocked or globally locked, among them Thismomentisgone (undisclosed paid editing), AuthenticSources2546 (CheckUser block for socking), and Parryla and Windacie (both locked). And back on 3 February 2019, three IPs from one range put topic-matched deep links to the old domain into three articles within a few hours, which is what hired link building looks like. Kqol (talk) 21:41, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Kqol: The existing usages (about 290 as of writing, false positives included) first need to be removed. Please do so first. If no one disputes that, then we can proceed to blacklist the domains. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 08:31, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
- psychology.com, regenerated.com, baricboost.com and fatfire.com are cleaned now, please take a look. What remains is five links on Wikidata, all on items about the sites or their owner. Kqol • talk 19:50, 20 August 2026 (UTC)
- As for positivepsychology.com and its old domain, I'll do whichever you think is right: clean them myself, or take the question to RSN first. It's 33 articles on enwiki citing positivepsychology.com and 10 more citing the old domain, plus about 70 across the other projects. Of the 81 accounts that added those citations, 24 have under 50 edits in their whole history, six are IPs or temporary accounts, and six are blocked. Many established editors cited it too, which is why I'd rather ask than start removing. Kqol • talk 19:55, 20 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Kqol: Great work, thanks. I just added those four domains and have already nominated the Wikidata items for deletion. Asking first is indeed the way to go. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 20:13, 20 August 2026 (UTC)

[edit]A bot-mitigation vendor. 18 pages: enwiki 12, frwiki 2 (including the article fr:DataDome), itwiki 1, idwiki 1, arwiki 1, fawiki 1. The links are the vendor's own product, changelog, guide and marketing pages, placed on the general articles covering the threats it sells against — Credential stuffing, DDoS mitigation, Bot prevention, Friendly fraud, Web scraping, Chargeback, Turing test and others.
The subject's own article was deleted twice on enwiki: soft-deleted 10 February 2026, recreated 18 March 2026 by PrudskaSofa (talk · contribs) (listed in this case, blocked 10 July 2026 for undisclosed paid editing), deleted again 14 May 2026. The reference placement continued regardless: eleven of the twelve enwiki links were added by Zerjolk (talk · contribs) between November 2025 and April 2026, blocked 10 July 2026 for the same reason; the twelfth by WikieMouse (talk · contribs), not blocked. One month after the second deletion, fr:DataDome was created on 18 June 2026 by Konsotation (talk · contribs), an frwiki account registered that April which also edits fr:Poker King.
hix.ai
[edit]An AI writing service. 8 pages: eswiki 2, frwiki 2, ptwiki 1, ruwiki 1, plwiki 1, jawiki 1. Nothing remains in enwiki article space; the nine enwiki hits are external-link spam warnings on user talk pages, one of them issued to Pavalaki (talk · contribs) in November 2023, an account listed in this case. It has been cleaned off the project that noticed it and left alone everywhere else.
Two further client domains of the same operation, vip-grinders.com and ximea.com, are deliberately not requested here: their content is on-topic editorial and manufacturer material that ordinary editors also cite, and the problem there is the accounts rather than the domains I think. Spammed on many wikis by sockpuppets with identical behavior. My guess for the ruwiki additions that look good-faith is it's a website operator deliberately messing with citoid (since the link appears in the "surname" field of the citation every time), but the additions on other wikis are definitely bad-faith spam. lp0 on fire () 12:41, 11 September 2026 (UTC)

Cross-wiki linkspam (e.g. enwiki and eswiki additions) as well as UPE articles. There are 3 links (one each on enwiki, eswiki, and hawiki) that I think might be legitimate primary sources, so I'm leaving them for now and they can be whitelisted if needed. The spam articles have been created so many times with no sign of stopping that I think it might be worth adding to the title blacklist (along with the alternative capitalizations SoftSwiss and SOFTSWISS). lp0 on fire () 21:17, 12 September 2026 (UTC)

I am Empowerly’s current SEO manager and am requesting review of the global blacklist entry for empowerly.com, added on May 6, 2025 under “Bulk text reference addition spam.”
I was unaware of the earlier activity and do not have background information about the accounts or any vendors involved. To my knowledge, Empowerly is not currently conducting or commissioning Wikipedia link-placement activity.
I encountered the restriction while attempting to save an English Wikipedia draft about Empowerly. The intended use was the company’s About page as a primary source for basic company information, not as evidence of notability.
I am not disputing the original decision. Could you advise what evidence would be needed to reconsider the domain’s inclusion, or whether requesting local whitelisting of the specific About page would be more appropriate? JoseEmpowerly (talk) 03:57, 11 September 2026 (UTC)

Hello,
I would like to request a review and possible removal of bdrailwayticket.com from the Wikimedia Global Spam Blacklist.
I understand that the domain may have been added because of previous spam or inappropriate external-link activity. However, I am the current operator of the website and I do not intend to use Wikimedia projects for promotional purposes, SEO, or link building.
The website provides informational content related to Bangladesh Railway tickets and railway travel information.
I respectfully request that the domain be reviewed based on its current content and status. If the domain was added due to actions by a previous owner, user, or contributor, I would appreciate clarification regarding the historical reason so that any concerns can be properly addressed.
I understand that removal from the global spam blacklist does not automatically make the website an acceptable source or external link on Wikimedia projects. Any future use of the domain would still need to comply with the relevant Wikimedia policies regarding reliable sources and external links.
Thank you for reviewing this request. Please let me know if any additional information is required. Imran Hossan (talk) 05:12, 11 September 2026 (UTC)
