[mod] IMPORTANT post regarding the new cut system, be sure to read!
Hello everyone, and welcome to all our new members!
As I mentioned in the previous post, we're using a new system for Claims and Cuts. This post outlines the changes, and though it might appear exhaustive and/or redundant, we want to ensure that everyone understands the new system, and nip any prospective loopholes in the bud.
Firstly, there will now be one cut list every two calendar months, starting with the first cut list on October 1st. Hence, the cuts will take place every even month if the year: October, December, February, April, June, August, etc.
In addition, if you claim on or after the 20th of the month preceding the cut date, you are exempt from being cut until the next time. A warning list containing those who are in danger of being cut will also be posted on this date.
If you drop or are cut for inactivity, you may claim again after one month. This is an existing rule, though we take inactivity and squatting very seriously and reserve the right to make cuts on that basis. Extenuating circumstances are reviewed case by case.
In our attempt to eliminate "filler"-type entries and encourage a cohesive story, the following will not satisfy the requirement:
- A list of tour dates or a news clipping copied-and-pasted directly from an official website with nothing else.
- LiveJournal/blog memes.
- YouTube videos with no commentary or any attempt to invite discussion.
- Your Claim post.
This list is not all-encompassing by any means; there is no way we can truly set a black-and-white law and we do not want anyone to feel pressured. You are welcome to post anything you'd like--thoughts, feelings, reflections, ruminations, log snippets, scene snippets, tour or release information (in your own words, not posted verbatim from a website please!), et cetera. It does not have to be a novella! We're not out to pressure anyone; this is simply an elimination of pointless filler. We want everyone to enjoy their home for what it is, not as a place to stake a claim and forget about it except when that ol' cuttin' time rolls around! ;)
The self-governing honour system should be at the front of your mind here. Use your best judgment and if you feel that the post is too empty, your peers probably will too.
A warning list will be posted on September 20th for those who still have yet to post, and the first official cut list will be posted on October 1st.
