歴史の教科書はじめ、国語・数学・社会・理科・音楽・美術・保健体育・家庭技術・・・、女性の名前を数えてみてください。
○○の母、○○の女（むすめ）、○○の妻、乳母、産婆、巫女、采女、女官、尼、海女、農婦、蚕女、織女、茶摘女、女工、販女、湯女、女中、女給、遊女、主婦、看護婦、慰安婦、軍国乙女、大陸花嫁、職業婦人、引揚女性、・・・無名の女性たちが家庭や社会を支えてきました。
歴史や世界を彩りかたちづくってきた女性たちの物語を共有することは、その他たくさんの名も無き女性達に光をあてることにつながります。
そして男性には見えなかった歴史また世界の闇に光を投げかけることでしょう。

Count the names of women in our school textbooks—whether it’s history, Japanese, math, social studies, science, music, art, PE, or home economics.　 Behind the labels like "the mother of so-and-so," "the daughter of so-and-so,"  "the wife of so-and-so," wet-nurses (Uba), midwives (Sanba), shrine maidens (Miko), court women (Uneme), Buddhist nuns (Ama), diving women (Ama), peasantesses (Nofu), magnanarelles (Kaicome), textrices (Orime), tea-picking-maids (Chatsumime), mill-girls (Joko), costermongresses (Hisame), bath-maids (Yuna), abigails (Jochu), bar-maids (Jokyu), courtesans (Yujo), housewives (Shufu), matrons (Kangofu), comfort-women (Ianfu), war-maidens (Gunkoku-otome), colonial-brides (Tairiku-hanayome), repatriatresses (Hikiage-josei), and career-women (Shokugyo-fujin), …countless anonymous women have quietly sustained our families and society. 
Sharing the stories of the women who colored and shaped our history and world allows us to shine a light on these many nameless women.
In doing so, we cast a light upon the historical and global blind spots that remained invisible to men.
