・ここでのhand stencilは、壁に手を当て、その周囲に顔料を吹きつけてできたものを指しています。こうすることで手の形が壁に残ります。
・ここでのblowは「吹きつける」という意味です。
・pigmentは「顔料」です。
・ここでのdepositsは「堆積物」です。
・predateは「～より古い時代のものである、～より前から存在する」という意味です。
・embodyは「体現する」で、抽象的な概念を具体的に表すことを意味します。
・as to ...は「～に関して、～について」です。

デポジットときくと、ついつい預払金のイメージでしたが、堆積物のいみもあるんですね。

ちなみに、as toと形が似ていて混同されやすいのが、as forです。as for ...は「～の方は、～に関していえば」という意味で、話題を変えたり、前に述べたことと対比したりするときに使います。
例: I like tea. As for coffee, I never drink it.
「私は紅茶が好きだ。コーヒーの方はといえば、全く飲まない。」
この例文では、紅茶について述べたあとでコーヒーに話題を移しています。as forはこのように使うと覚えておきましょう。
