見過ごされた命に形を与え、日常の道具へ。東京で見つけた私の原点 | Giving Form to the Overlooked: Finding My Roots in the Heart of Tokyo
山に入り、足元にある蔓（つる）や野花、そして捨てられるはずのトウモロコシの外皮。それらを拾い集め、リースや籠へと編み上げていく時間がとても好きでした。
「自然素材の美しさを受け取り、形を変えて私たちの前に現れる。しばらく日常で楽しんで、やがて地球に還す。」
現代では厄介者として排除されがちなものを、日々の道具へと形を変える。そうすることで、ふと人の目に留まり、そこに新しい価値と命が宿る。それが私にとっての大きな喜びでした。
東京という都会にいると、山に入って蔓を編むような活動はなかなかできず、「私の中のこの想いも、やがてフェードアウトしてしまうのだろうか……」と少し寂しく感じていた時期もありました。
しかし、ふと気づいたのです。
今や役目がなくなってしまった藁（わら）や蔓（つる）を編み直し、世界にひとつだけの道具に変えること。
そして、キャンバスの中だけで生きる絵画を、トートバッグやノートといった「生きた道具」に変え、誰かの日常のなかで使ってもらうこと。
華道で教わった「蕾から枯れゆく姿まで、命のすべての瞬間を愛でる」という心。 これからも、見落とされたものに光を当て、形を変え、誰かの日常を温める道具としてよみがえらせる活動を、場所が変わっても私なりのペースで紡いでいきたいと思います。
I used to love stepping into the mountains, gathering vines, wildflowers, and even discarded corn husks from beneath my feet, weaving them into wreaths and baskets.
"Receive the beauty of natural materials, change their form, enjoy them in our daily lives for a while, and eventually return them to the earth."
By transforming what is often considered a nuisance or waste into everyday tools, they suddenly catch our eyes, breathing new life and value into them. That was my true joy.
Living in the metropolis of Tokyo, I can no longer easily forage for vines in the mountains. There were times I felt a bit lonely, wondering if this passion of mine would simply fade away.
But then, I realized something.
Taking straw and vines that have seemingly lost their purpose, and breathing new life into them as one-of-a-kind tools. Taking a painting that lives only on a canvas and transforming it into a "living tool"—like a tote bag or a notebook—so it can be embraced in someone's everyday life.
What I am doing now, right in the middle of this city, is fundamentally no different from weaving those mountain vines.
It is the same spirit I learned in Ikebana: to appreciate every moment of life, from the fragile bud to the withering petal. I will continue to shine a light on the overlooked, change their forms, and revive them as tools that bring warmth to someone's everyday life, wherever I am.
