【今日のエッセイ】

人との距離って、いつもちょうどよくは測れません。

近づきすぎると疲れて、離れすぎると寂しくなる。

だから今日は、流れに押されず、静かに立ってみます。

相手に合わせて動きすぎない。自分の芯は、そっと残しておく。

その静けさが、案外いちばん強い立ち方なんだと思います。

波立てず
されど流れに
押されずに
静かに立てる
岸辺のごとし

【Today's Essay】

The distance between people is never easy to measure just right.

Too close and we tire; too far and we grow lonely.

So today, I try to stand quietly, not pushed by the current.

I won't move too much to match others; I keep my core, gently, to myself.

That quietness, I think, is unexpectedly the strongest way to stand.

Making no waves,
yet not pushed along
by the current —
standing quietly,
like a bank at the water's edge.
