モロッコ産、
モササウルス（Mosasaurus）の頭骨・頭蓋骨（スカル）化石。
本標本は頭骨単体ではなく、頸椎（cervical vertebrae）付き。
首から頭骨への連なりが見事で、まるで生きているかのような躍動感を感じさせます。
スカル単体とは異なり、立体的かつ連続的な構造により、生物としての実在感が際立つ個体です。

歯の保存状態も良好で全体としてよく揃っており、
口元から伝わる捕食者としての迫力も大きな魅力です。
側面写真の通り、サイズは約60cm級。
定規を添えて撮影するのは海外取引では基本であり、
サイズの明示＝信頼性の担保でもあります。

一見すると風化や継ぎが目立つように見えますが、
本標本は発掘後の補強やコーティングがほとんど施されていない状態。
表面には、必要最低限の処理として
**ナチュラルペイント（現地の土砂＋水＋接着剤）**が施されています。
これはモロッコで広く用いられる技法で、

Mosasaurus Skull Fossil with Cervical Vertebrae from Morocco

This is an impressive Mosasaurus skull fossil from Morocco, preserved together with cervical vertebrae.

Unlike a skull displayed on its own, this specimen retains the connection between the Mosasaurus skull and neck vertebrae, creating a much stronger sense of the animal’s original form. The continuous structure from the neck to the skull gives the fossil a dynamic, almost lifelike presence and makes it particularly impressive as a display specimen.

The teeth are also well preserved and remain well arranged overall. Together with the large jaws, they strongly convey the powerful appearance of Mosasaurus as a marine predator.

As shown in the side view, the specimen measures approximately 60 cm in overall size. In international fossil trading, photographs taken with a ruler or measuring scale are commonly used to clearly indicate the actual dimensions of a specimen. Providing visible measurements is also an important way to communicate the size of a fossil accurately.

At first glance, some weathering, cracks, and joined areas can be seen on the surface. However, this specimen remains in a relatively natural condition, with very little reinforcement or heavy coating applied after excavation.

The surface has received only minimal treatment using what is locally referred to as “natural paint,” made from local sediment, water, and adhesive. This type of treatment is widely used in Morocco. It helps improve the strength of the specimen while maintaining its natural appearance and avoiding an excessively artificial finish.

The result is a Mosasaurus skull fossil with cervical vertebrae that preserves a strong sense of the original fossil material and natural texture.

The combination of the large skull, preserved teeth, and connected cervical vertebrae gives this Moroccan Mosasaurus fossil a presence that cannot easily be experienced with an isolated skull alone. It is an impressive specimen that allows the viewer to appreciate not only the skull itself, but also the continuity between the head and neck of this ancient marine reptile.
