ナフサ不足？

調剤薬局で薬を入れるチャック袋が足りないのか、先日から薬が2種類でも1つのチャック袋にまとめて渡されるようになりました。

今までは、薬1種類につきチャック袋1枚だったのに。

調剤薬局さん「中東の情勢で……」とのこと。

「うん、知ってるよ？ ナフサ不足やんな？」
そう返したくなりましたが、やめておきました。

そういえば、最近はナフサ不足の話をあまり聞かなくなりましたね。

でも、今回の出来事を見ていると、現場では今も何らかの影響が続いているのかもしれません。

ナフサの供給不足なのか、価格が大きく上がっているのかはわかりませんが。

ナフサの問題はまだ終わっていないのではないかと感じました。

Naphtha Shortage?


Recently, my pharmacy started putting two different medications into a single resealable plastic bag.

Until now, each medication had always been placed in its own bag.

When I asked about it, the pharmacist simply said, “Because of the situation in the Middle East…”

I almost replied, “I know. Is it because of the naphtha shortage?”

But I decided not to.

By the way, people don’t seem to talk much about the naphtha shortage anymore.

For readers who may not be familiar with it, naphtha is a petroleum-based raw material used to make many plastic products, including resealable plastic bags.

However, judging from what I experienced at the pharmacy, it seems that some kind of impact may still be continuing on the ground.

I don’t know whether it’s because naphtha is still in short supply or because its price has increased significantly.

But it made me feel that the naphtha issue is not over yet.
