From fragments of daily life
葛尾村郷土文化保存伝習館には、川をせき止めてつくられたプールの『プール開き』の記録が展示されていました。訪れた人たちがその資料を囲んで語り合う様子が心に残り、この資料が持つ何かをひもときたいと思い、当時を知る方々に話をうかがいました。語られた記憶の中で、生活の断片が重なり合い、失われつつあるものや、これから大切にしていきたいものの感覚が立ち上がってきました。その複雑な感覚を捉えるため、小さな作品を制作しました。また滞在中には、「一緒に手を動かす時間」の中で自然に言葉が生まれることの大切さも実感しました。そうした時間を提案するため、雑草など身近な植物から顔料や絵の具を生み出す試みを行い、その過程も作品として形にしました。
At the Katsurao Local Culture Preservation and Learning Center, I saw an exhibition of records of the opening ceremony for a pool created by damming a river. The visitors who gathered around the items on display and shared stories left an impression on me. There was something about the items that inspired me to look more deeply into them, so I started to speak to people who were there at the time. The fragments of daily life overlapped within their shared memories, evoking a sense of things that are fading away and things that will continue to be cherished. I created this small work to capture this complex sensation. During my residency, I also gained a deep appreciation for how words emerge of their own accord in the times when we work with our hands together. I presented this time by taking my attempts to make pigments and paints from common plants and weeds and shaping the process into a work.

SHIMOURA Moeka
ある場所に根ざした歴史や記憶、日々の営みのなかで形づくられてきた関係性に関心を持ち、それらの蓄積と自身の制作とを交差させるかたちで実践を行う。2021年より大阪府藤井寺市・土師ノ里エリアにて、アーティスト・ラン・スペース「デラハジリ」の運営を開始。滞在制作や地域との協働、リサーチ、対話を通じて、芸術が日常のなかで息づく在り方を探っている。
主な活動に、2024年「大切なものを見つめるための装置」（hitoto、大阪）2024年「とまり きき みて とおった むこう」（jichanchi、大阪）2025年「HAKOBUNE AIR」（HAKOBUNEビル、香川）などがある。
Moeka Shimoura explores relationships shaped by the histories, memories, and daily lives rooted in specific places. Her practice intersects these local accumulations with her own artistic process. Since 2021, she has been running Derahajiri, an artist-run space based in the Hajinosato area of Fujiidera, Osaka. Through residencies, collaborative projects with local communities, research, and dialogue, she investigates how art can become an integral part of everyday life.
Major projects include A Device for Contemplating What Matters (hitoto, Osaka, 2024), To Stay, Listen, Watch, and Pass Through the Other Side (jichanchi, Osaka, 2024), and HAKOBUNE AIR (HAKOBUNE Building, Kagawa, 2025), among others.
