遠い目を見て遠くを見る

Looking "the eyes" far away

人の眼差しの奥を見る事は遠くを想像する事に近いような気がする。
私は葛尾村で出会った方々に5分間だけボーッとして欲しいと伝え、
カメラの録画ボタンを押し、その場から離れる。
そして5分後に録画をストップする。
ただそれを繰り返し、それぞれの無意識な状態をカメラが捉えた。
鑑賞者と被写体との間に暗黙の時間が流れることになる。
さて、その暗黙の時間に思いを馳せることができるだろうか？

Looking deep into someone's eyes is almost like imagining somewhere far away.
I asked the people I met in Katsurao village to let their minds wander for five minutes, then I pressed the record button on my camera and left.
When five minutes had passed, I stopped the recording.
Through simple repetition of this process, I captured the unconscious
of each person through the camera.
An unspoken moment passes between the viewer and the subject.
In that moment, can you imagine what their faraway eyes saw?

2019 ゴールドスミス, ロンドン大学 MFA 修了

近年では構造上の関係を分解し、暗示的なモチーフや主体と客体を入れ替えるなどのシュールレアリスティックな彫刻作品や映像作品を制作している。2017 – 2020年まで英国ロンドンに滞在、野村財団(2017)、ポーラ美術振興財団在外研修員(2019-2020)
主な活動歴に、「主体と客体」ポーラ美術館アネックス(2021),「Temporary Satisfaction」個展 Fizrovia Gallery（2020),「中之条ビエンナーレ」(2019), Deptford X / Gold X (2018)など。

2019 Goldsmiths University of London MFA

Hiroki Ishikawa has in recent years produced surrealistic sculptures and videos that deconstruct structural relationships, suggestive motifs and the interchange of subject and object.　He lived and worked in the UK from 2017 – 2020 supported by Nomura Art Foundation 2017 and Pola Art Foundation 2019-2020. His artworks have been exhibited in numerical shows, ‘Subject and Object’ Pola Museum Annex 2021 / Tokyo, ‘Temporary Satisfaction’ Solo Show Fitzrovia Gallery 2020 / London, ‘Nakanojo Biennale 2019’ / Gunma, ‘Gold X’ Deptford X 2018 / London.
