Katsurao Ware Project
今プロジェクトは、葛尾村にて陶芸文化の形成を目的として活動しており、今年度が2期目です。1期目では、ハマカルアートプロジェクト*の一環で滞在し、村内に眠る地域資源としての粘土を発見しました。粘土の採取と成形、焼成。葛尾焼き後継者の育成、今後、葛尾焼きを後継したいとする参加者へ向けた映像作品の制作も行いました。
そして今年度は、葛尾村内にて営業するカフェの利用者に向けた陶芸体験、村民の方々に監修頂き葛尾村に伝わる炭窯を制作し、粘土の採取から焼成を一貫して行える、陶芸文化形成の起点となりえるスペース制作を行いました。 今後、制作した葛尾窯が多分に運用され、村内に陶芸作品が溢れかえることを願います。

The Katsurao Ware Project, now in its second year, works to foster ceramic arts in Katsurao. In the first year, participants stayed in the village as part of the Hamacul Art Project.* After discovering that clay is one of the village's latent resources, they went through the processes of gathering, shaping, and firing it. They also made a video for others interested in continuing to build the Katsurao ware tradition.
This year, the project offered pottery workshops for the customers of Cafe Shizuku in Katsurao and, under the supervision of village resident Hidenori Endo, built a wood-fired kiln based on traditional local methods, setting up a space for everything from processing clay to firing. It is hoped that the Katsurao kiln will see lots of use and fill the village with local ceramics.
*The Hamacul Art Project supports local creative work in twelve municipalities within Fukushima Prefecture that were severely affected by the 2011 earthquake and nuclear disaster.

2002年 愛知県生まれ。名古屋芸術大学 大学院 修士課程 美術研究科 在籍。
鑑賞者が今を生きている実感を獲得すべく、地域や個人が持っているつまずき,人と人とのコミュニケーション,ライブ感などを手がかりに、 陶芸,映像などで構成したインスタレーションを用いて表現を試みている。
