風景をほどく
Unraveling Landscape
聴こえてくる音に耳を澄ませることから葛尾村を知ろうとしていきました。今はもう聴こえないかつての音も想像しながら村内を巡り、録音を重ねました。集めた音を切り取り、つなぐ編集作業は、新しい風景がつくられていく感覚でした。 滞在中、葛（くず）が大きな布のようにその場を覆っている様子をよく見ました。その風景をほどくように、蔓を引き、切り取り、糸にしました。 またニット工場でいただいた余り素材を手の感覚に任せて広げ、ほどき、結ぶと、それらは道端で見た黒い土のう袋やピンクの紐の結び目を連想させました。ここで出会った風景や音を少しほどき、手で触れながら繰り返す作業の中で、この場所との関わりが形になっていきました。
I set out to get to know Katsurao by listening closely to the sounds around me. While walking through the village, I recorded what I could while imagining sounds that can no longer be heard. Cutting and connecting the collected sounds gave me a sense of creating a new landscape.
While staying in the village, I often saw areas covered in kudzu vines like vast pieces of fabric. I pulled away vines as though unravelling the landscape, cutting them up and turning them into thread.
I also received leftover yarn from a knit factory, and so, letting my hands guide me, I spread it out, unravelled it, and tied it back together, evoking the black plastic sacks tied with pink cords that I saw on the roadside. As my hands went through these repetitive motions, gently pulling apart the landscapes and sounds I encountered, my connection to this place began to take shape.

MATSUMOTO Miki
2003年 神奈川県生まれ。多摩美術大学情報デザイン学科メディア芸術コース卒業。
日々の個人的で些細な出来事や感情を記録しながら、一見遠くに思える場所や他者とのつながりについて考えている。変化し続ける思考や感情をメモに残し、その言葉の断片を掬い取りながら写真や音、布、糸、ドローイングなど複数の素材を用いて作品を制作している。
主な展示会に「多摩美術大学 卒業制作展・大学院修了制作展 」（多摩美術大学 、2025)、「〔〕人間たちの〔〕 」（横浜市民ギャラリー 、2024）など。
Born 2003 in Kanagawa.Graduated from Tama Art University, Department of Information Design, Media Art Course.
While recording the small, personal events and emotions of daily life, she reflects on connections with seemingly distant places and others.By noting down continuously shifting thoughts and feelings and drawing inspiration from fragments of those words, she creates works using various materials such as photography, sound, fabric, thread, and drawing.Major exhibitions include “Tama Art University Graduation Works Exhibition” (Tama Art University, 2025) and “〔〕The Human(s) of 〔〕” (Yokohama Civic Art Gallery, 2024).
