Love Is Born From Loneliness
English below
Love Is Born From Loneliness
I think love is born from loneliness.
Even if we are born through our parents,
we arrive on this planet alone, and one day, we leave this universe alone too.
Even though we are born alone, we receive love from family (not everyone does), love from friends, and eventually, love from lovers or partners.
But failed relationships — both in family and romance are incredibly common.
I can’t say I grew up in a healthy environment and I can’t say I was particularly lucky in love either.
For most of my life, I believed that if I gave enough love, love would naturally come back to me.
If I devoted myself, understood people, supported them,
healed those who were hurting, or stayed beside those who needed help…
I thought I would receive the same amount of love in return.
But reality was different.
Earlier this year, I broke up with someone I was with for two years.
(Though honestly, when I'm in a relationship, I tend to love them for an almost frighteningly long time. So two years actually felt short to me. It was good that it ended before it became even longer.)
After that, I kept asking myself “What is it that I actually want in my life?”
I read a lot of books. I sat in silence.
I wrote down emotions that came to me absentmindedly throughout the day.
And eventually, I arrived at one feeling :
Love is born from loneliness.
People who do not understand themselves deeply cannot truly receive love
within deep relationships.
I believe all human beings need love.
But the idea that “love (or someone who you love) will save you” feels close to an illusion.
What we actually need is to understand ourselves —
what we seek, what wounds us, and what we are emotionally unhealthy attached to.
Because love itself is light. You must feel light.
Unhealthy Attachment or obsession is heavy.
If your emotions feel unbearably heavy, suffering, numbing, it may not be love at all.
More than self-love, what we truly need is self-understanding.
Only through continuous self-understanding can healthy relationships begin to exist — whether with family, friends, or romantic partners.
Human beings are never complete.
We continue growing until the day we die.
That is why love does not “complete” people.
Love exposes our immaturity, our loneliness, our desires,
and our emotional contradictions.
And through that exposure, we continue to grow.
When two people understand loneliness at a similar depth, love can expand,
deepen, and elevate both people.
But many relationships begin not from love, but from the fear of loneliness.
And because of that, people often fall in love not with the other person themselves, but with the version of that person they created inside their own minds.
Then, when reality no longer matches the fantasy, conflict begins.
Maybe that is why so many relationships repeatedly fall apart.
Because in the end, many people are not loving another human being —
they are loving their own projection.
To truly receive love, and to truly give it, I want to become someone who is strong enough to face loneliness.
